@AustinISDsupt@AustinISD What is layared about your protocol to - as the 1st option in your flowchart - have unvacc’d kids come to school (and eat w friends in the cafeteria) with direct exposure (probably continual direct exposure if at home w ill family)? Also, why no testing reqmt?
@AustinISD The unvacc’d exposure part of your flowchart should more reflect CDC (as pictured) which advised to quarantine if not vacc’d in the last 6 mo. Yes, some families can’t afford to keep their children home but this should be a proces w a plan, not just a “hey, come on in”.
@matthewlehew@allenrgee I recommend getting a box of kn95s or surgicals, and after being direct (per advice on this thread), offering them to anyone who did not bring a mask, and asking the students to - moving forward - remember to keep a mask with them (so you don’t have to continually supply them).
@allenrgee Great advice. All I was doing was showing a picture of my unborn child every class and explaining the increased risk of COVID complications and death faced by pregnant women. I didn’t even think about being *direct*.
I start every class with an ultrasound picture of my son due in October, pleading with my students to wear masks as a personal favor to my family. In small, at-capacity classrooms, only 5 of 45 of my students wore a mask. I’ll never be able to look at this job the same way.
@GregAbbott_TX Thank you Greg. These masks are seriously ruining lives. With the amount of bacteria detected on some of these samples - these masks are actually weakening the immune system and prolonging the pandemic.
The time for government mask mandates is over—now is the time for personal responsibility.
In May, I signed an executive order prohibiting mask mandates by gov't entities.
Every Texan has the right to choose whether they will wear a mask or have their children wear masks.
This is a good time to remind everyone that Trump is currently being taken care of by socialized medicine. In fact, the entire military is funded by taxpayers, including hospitals.
