A majority of the industry has always aimed for realistic graphics since the beginning of 3D gaming, it just looked “stylized” to you because the tech was very limited at the time

favorite moment was the train sequence. i’ve always been obsessed with train action scenes in games and film (splinter cell, resident evil 0, snowpiercer, mission impossible) and uncharted 2’s set piece was an instant classic
