I love Marathon, but I don't think the answer to this is one people really want to hear. Everytime a game drops and underperforms all the players who love it always speculate what x company can do to raise the playerbase. It's never as simple as just doing one thing. I don't think a free weekend would hurt, but it's also worth noting Marathon had a pseudo free weekend when they dropped the server slam right before the game came out. Lot's of those players didn't end up buying the game, and I struggle to see how that would be different this time around. Sure the game has a couple more maps, but most new players aren't going to get to Outpost or definetly Cyro before they end up quitting anyways. TLDR: I think Marathons player base is what it is. Bungie's best bet is likely focusing on retention and maybe slowly over time that can grow as new players trickle in, as long as the existing ones stick around. But does Bungie have the runway to do that funding wise? Idk

@sargemccabe @AKAJKYT2 @axiochrono @xaviersonline_ Yeah watching Rogue One right after is actually very jarring because of how much better Andor is and that's not a slight against Rogue One. I feel like that just reinforces why release order is better for the first time too.

People who ask whether to watch something in release order or “chronological order” are actually stupid

people are saying these designs are boring but do you know how much effort and money goes into making those custom jackets? like from the tau ceti cup? they would all be like 200 dollars

@AKAJKYT2 @axiochrono @xaviersonline_ The last 2 episodes of Andor just do not hit the same if you haven't watched Rogue One, same with S1 post credits scene, same with the scene with the force healer (one of the best ones), Luther's monologue and about a few more Release Order always wins because of context. Always

Marathon Runner tier list: Wanted to wait for Cryo/Ranked to complete a weekend so I could give the most objective list possible for high end gameplay. All characters are judged by their peak (best in slot cores/implants and a top player playing them in a stacked trio roster).

I'm not convinced this gun exists. Over 100 hours into the game so far and I haven't found one or even been shot by one.

It's still funny when I learnt this guy used to be a tiny ass content creator who played The Last of Factions multiplayer.

Imagine if Joel actually showed up in that scene and fought alongside Ellie, only to end up being her hallucination and stopping her from killing abbey. If executed properly this would’ve been much cooler than the actual plot imo

@SHORT_MEISTER @meloneslada On the sides of the vent after you drop down, that way the lasers can be seen, but sometimes ive put them clear and visible right at the drop and people still drop down without looking
