@SophieMcDLaw Plan 1 (pre 2006) isn’t written off until your 65. If I had gone the year after, it would be written off after 25 years. Considering I didn’t start earning enough to make “sizeable” repayments until 10 years post-grad, I’ll be paying it off until I’m 65. 😁

She doesn’t need this extra stress. She’s 73, lost her husband (my dad) earlier this year - who did a lot to promote the football club. Whilst football is her escape, it feels like the club aren’t taking things seriously.

I love @BurnleyOfficial but for the last 4 months they’ve taken £43.33 out of my mums account for her Over 65 season ticket, rather than £28.51 it should be. (Extra £14.82 a month, £59.48 total) She’s rung, emailed, been down to sort, but still happening. Sort ya DD office!

@BurnleyOfficial So proud of this team, and this little Mill Town. The boys have always shown a resilience and calm determination to succeed. Enjoy the break! X

@dadmann_walking I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad from a sudden heart attack at home 3 months ago. Our 10 year old dog witnessed it and has not left the space where my Dads chair used to be since. Sometimes he hides behind the curtain (something he never did before) and cries. Xx

@Rubymu @BurnleyOfficial Thank you ❤️ Yes, lots of big emotions today. Luckily mum and I are sat with a fab group of ST holders who have been so supportive. Some even attended the funeral! Clarets Family are everything at times like this. X

It’s 2 months since my Dad died from a heart attack. First time back on the turf today and couldn’t have wished for a better match @BurnleyOfficial. Just wish I could have told him about the ‘last dash Bashley goal’ when I got home 💔 #twitterclarets

@ThePureDrop @TheFamousArtBR @Pleasantfucker 100%. I didn’t truly understand how debilitating and life changing it could be until I saw it first hand. In some cases, the decline in cognitive, occupational, physical, social function can be catastrophic. It’s not about the diagnosis or cause, it’s about the impact. X

@sarri_c @TheFamousArtBR @Pleasantfucker Even those who recover and have their positive symptoms treated can still be disabled by negative symptoms and side effects of psychotropic medication. This is before we get to social stigma and employers not wanting employees to take too much sick leave.

Being deaf is a disability. No you can’t get it “fixed” or restored. Yes - there’s different levels of hearing loss, not everyone with minor hearing loss is classed as “deaf” and there’s criteria to reach (such as “profound hearing loss) before it becomes considered a disability. For example - needing reading glasses isn’t something that is classed as “blindness” and it isn’t a disability - but being blind is a disability. Being mentally ill is not a disability, as disabilities and mental illnesses are two different things. If they were the same thing then all disabled people would be mentally ill. This just simply isn’t true. It’s bizarre to me that so many adults don’t understand this.

@ThePureDrop @TheFamousArtBR @Pleasantfucker I’ve nursed many individuals with schizophrenia and other severe mental illnesses. Some are catatonic. Some cannot eat, drink wash, communicate, or have capacity to understand basic things or make day to day decisions. They will always need 24 hr care. They are disabled. End of.

@TheFamousArtBR I think it’s about the impact of a condition on cognitive, occupational, social, physical function. It’s getting to a point where a physical or mental symptoms cause measurable and enduring impairment on day to day ability. e.g Alcoholism leading to Wernicke’s Korsakoffs

I think I know what’s happening. When I say “mental illness isn’t a disability” or “alcoholism and drug addictions are not a disability” People interpret that to mean “Mental illness isn’t bad” Or “Alcoholism and drug addictions aren’t bad” They seem to think disability is the worst thing therefore anything that’s really bad must be a disability. This isn’t true. A person can have a severe mental illness and not have a disability. A person can be a severe alcoholic and also not have a disability. Just because I’m saying it’s not the same as being disabled doesn’t mean I’m minimising how terrible being an alcoholic or having depression can be. Those things can be awful, and still not be a disability.

Happy #InternationalWomensDay to all the women who still haven't stopped fighting despite all the best efforts to silence us, sideline us, gaslight us by pretending things have now changed (and that you've 'always been' an ally). We see you, and we have ALL the receipts! 💜🤍💚

@asifamhp @RSPCA_official Unfortunately had similar experiences in my role (family safeguarding) and felt very frustrated with the outcome. Often batted between RSPCA & police, with no progress. Then dog suddenly disappears with no trace or is handed over when it’s too late, and put down.

Not overly impressed with @RSPCA_official today. Not the response to a welfare concern for a hound, I had anticipated or hoped for✔️ What to do next 🤔

@adam_major1 It depends how you measure success and the role a player has in the team. Goals would be nice, yes. But I’d say he’s shown massive emotional resilience despite set-backs, has been pivotal in build-up play and blocking shots, shows passion and is clearly respected by team mates.

@sarri_c He’s had well over a year of arms round his shoulder and people telling him it’ll be alright. It clearly isn’t working, he clearly isn’t good enough and it’s time to drop him.

Sick of the players/staff consoling Foster every time he misses a sitter. He’s a pro footballer paid £10,000s. If he’s played shit tell him he’s played shit. If his mental health takes a such a hit when he plays badly that he can’t take criticism he shouldn’t be a footballer.

Not all the photos you take of your adorable pets turn out the way you imagine. This is Breagha, our lovely, mature, girl, running gracefully towards us in the early morning light. 🙄 Please feel free to post up your not too successful photos, would love to see them. 🙂
