The forceful detention of @RahulGandhi, @Priyanka Gandhi, @yadavakhilesh and other Opposition leaders during their protest is a severe affront to our democracy. Physical aggression against a peaceful protest is completely unjustifiable. An accountable government listens to dissent; it does not silence it through police action. This is not the India our Constitution envisages! We must never allow this appalling conduct to become the new normal.
Press Trust of India@PTI_News

VIDEO | As Congress MP Shashi Tharoor arrives at the protest site at Jantar Mantar, he says, "The Leader of the Opposition being dragged off physically and put in detention and other MPs as well and now frankly this is something that has moved the hearts and consciences of everybody in our country. I wanted to stand in solidarity with the students who are protesting here so I've come to see them.,, I think it's a democratic right to protest. It's non-violent protest. No one is trying to do anything that that is against the law. So I don't understand why the government is behaving with such insensitivity. The brutal lathi charge, the horrendous behaviour of the police and today the physical dragging away of the LoP, Rahul Gandhi. All of this I think has caused a lot of dismay to law-abiding citizens of this country." He further says, "This is not how we expect our government to deal with protests, with dissidents, with people who are demanding justice. These young students after all they worked hard for their exams, they studied hard and they were betrayed by the system. They were betrayed by the government that runs the system and they have every right to protest. The government should be accountable. The government cannot conceal its lack of accountability behind the police action and that too very brutal police action." (Full video available on PTI Videos - ptivideos.com)

Sir, the problem isn’t with young or senior ground reporters , most are indeed hardworking. It lies with the microphone and the channel it represents. Students witness these outlets senior anchors daily peddling hate, acting as government propaganda machines, and even now deflecting or distorting this protest. When they spot a familiar channel logo, it triggers justified agitation born of repeated betrayal of journalistic trust. Mobs targeting individuals is wrong and dangerous, but dismissing the underlying anger at systemic bias ignores why credibility has collapsed. Accountability for anchors isn’t mob justice, it’s essential for media reform. Safety for all reporters must coexist with honest self-reflection. @DILIPtheCHERIAN @iamnarendranath @LangaMahesh @bainjal @vijaita @suhasinih @NidhiKulpati5 @ShekharGupta
Shekhar Gupta@ShekharGupta

No Vijeta. We can’t leave it to the mobs to decide which journalist to love or hate. All journalists, senior or not, must feel entirely safe on the job. One mob’s good ‘guy’ is another’s monster. This trend began during Anna movement and many partisans cheered it. It was wrong then, is wrong now.

I don’t support the CJP. I wholeheartedly support the students of India who are facing an incredibly difficult and uncertain world due to rising competition, leaked papers, and the threat from AI-driven job losses. I don’t have to support the CJP to support the students of India. And I hope that this nuance is possible in today’s you-are-with-me-or-against-me world.
Prakash Bhatt@imbhattprakash

@neeleshmisra Sir when police persons got injured, they can't identify real culprit...in such protest innocents also get punished...issue with this protest (you know it) is, CJP leadership is using pain of thousands of students to narrate their agendas. It's politically influenced.

@TheDeshBhakt Answers to be sought from Delhi Police : 1. Who are these people? 2. If they are cops, why are they in plain clothes? 3. If they are not, how is the Delhi police allowing them to : a) Wield weapons? b) Attack protestors? x.com/TyrantOppresso…

Will GoI explain who are these goons in casual clothes who are beating students with sticks in their hands ? BJP Government should clarify whether they had hired goons to beat up the students ?

In any Developed nation, a Minister in the place of Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan would have taken the responsibility for the failure of his Ministry and stepped down long time back. I wonder why BJP chose to escalate it to this and remained blind & deaf to the simmering unrest in students for so long It was an absolutely peaceful demonstration until today. Easy to blame the protesters but they were trying to get heard for almost a month. Actions have reactions. Such brutal acts by Police is wrong. Not justifying any violence or hooliganism by protesters too. Simply saying government can't be so blind to issues masses are raising and be in a lala land saying sab changa si

Heart goes out to NEET Aspirants and Student community across India who feel cheated and want transparency and accountability. Peaceful protest is a right. But stone pelting, violence and vandalism is not the way to protest. Nor a violent regime change or attacking journalists.

@Vishal_1108 @prady7777 @AdityaRajKaul Read my tweet again. Nowhere did I say cops brought it. Nor did I say CJP brought it. I don't know who brought it. I asked: Despite heavy police deployment, how was this brought to that area? Security is police's responsibility, not CJP/BJP. So questions must be asked to police

@Vishal_1108 @prady7777 @AdityaRajKaul Use common sense. The Jantar Mantar & surrounding area had heavy police deployment. There is no way such a vehicle full of stones could pass without their knowledge. If it did, then questions must be asked of the police : how did it miss this truck being brought into this area?

@TheGopalan @seekingsrishti @CPJAsia @RSF_inter You need a press ID issued by a recognized news agency. Most of the "news Youtubers" (like Ravish Kumar, Abhisar Sharma, Punya Prasoon Bajpai, Akash Banerjee, Sarthak Goswami) already possess this due to their years of experience as professional journalists.

Regarding claims by Shri Abhay Yadav (App No. 260411367191) about his NEET (UG) 2026 OMR answer sheet and result: NTA has verified the record. The genuine OMR of the candidate is with NTA. It was also emailed to him at the registered e-mail address during the OMR Response Key challenge window. The candidate has stated publicly that only 5 questions were left unattempted and that the result should be 634 marks. This is not supported by the record. Of 180 questions, 44 were left unattempted. The OMR and the calculation sheet on file are mutually consistent. The score of 164 marks is verified and stands as declared. Creating or circulating a forged OMR answer sheet, or making claims at variance with the record of a public examination, is an offence under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. Opened Instagram and everyone is panicking that the gov is deaf, that our country is doomed, that everyone in the gov is illiterate, that democracy is dead, that lives have no value, that everything is going south... Then opened Livemint newspaper. My conclusion? Instagram is the new Arundhati Roy opinion column. Meanwhile, all news articles with numbers in them signal reality. We're doing just fine, in fact we're rocking it. Very good thing that the gov is deaf to roadside noise, but listening to people in boardrooms, agri-fields, factories, and tech parks. Real students are creating companies like Ather and Skyroot, not AI-dependent cockroach parties.
