Company origins often trace back to a personal pain point. For @xpticket founder @saunders3000, it was an Olivia Rodrigo concert and a wrong-date ticket he couldn't resell anywhere. "I bought tickets for my girls to Olivia Rodrigo and I bought the wrong date. It was annoying. And I'm stuck with these things and I'm like, this is just dumb. I'm on Twitter, just being like, who wants these? And then my DMs were all weird. StubHub was just... it was the worst. It was just a bad experience." The tickets never made it to a marketplace at all. "I ended up giving it to a coworker. Him and his girlfriend bought my kids some swag."

fun part of this @snapbacksports partnership has been watching people respond to tweets thinking we cut Casey a deal to make us look good reality is he’s just buying direct from a fan, like anyone else on XP’s fan-to-fan platform. the disbelief is honestly the best proof of pmf there is when the tech lets fans trade directly and safely, buyers and sellers both feel like they got deals. tickets go back to being about seeing the game, not crazy prices, high fees, or scammers.

Bump on this. Narrative was “FIFA overpriced everything, seats going empty.” Category-style primary means teams price 4 tiers instead of 50k seats. Better demand signal. Prices land closer to actual demand. Secondary market gets real liquidity. Underrated factor in all this.

.@FIFAWorldCup did a lot wrong to create this ticket mess ahead of the World Cup. But the category-style primary sale is actually a pretty brilliant mechanic. If artists leaned into this mechanic for primary releases, it’d help fix a lot of what’s broken in ticketing today.

I do not envy whoever is in charge of pricing the Knicks "Fan First" presale Game 4 get-in is $14,756 today. Was $3,659 on June 2nd. Go too high (>$10k) → massive PR backlash on a sale literally called "fan first" Go too low (<$5k) → leaving potentially millions of dollars on the table, and probably still dealing with backlash for charging several thousand dollars for something called fan first

The category is exchange-native marketplaces. Hyperliquid, Polymarket, Kalshi, StockX, @xpticket, @BAXUSco. Same shape. Listing marketplaces sold discovery; exchange-native marketplaces are what becomes possible when clearing comes first. Match both sides, hold escrow, settle the trade. And the product looks different because of it. Value can accrue to a token, to equity, to fees. That part's downstream. The category is the thing.

There's a new class in crypto: the revenue chains. The leaders are Hyperliquid & Solana. Both do some overlapping things, and some different things. Both have exceptional communities, usage, use cases, etc. I think that both will rise together, just as iOS and Android both rode the structural adoption of mobile. In the case of the revenue chains, they are riding the wave of capital markets coming onchain. Right place, right time for both. If you are rooting for HYPE or SOL or both, success will be less about the competition between the two (healthy ofc), but rather the rise of onchain capital markets. Root for capital markets coming onchain. Love seeing crypto succeed —
