@rohaninvestor My dad was denied loan for interiors , as he never had credit card or anything, ..
No loans nothing..
This is the state of Indian banks ..
English

The richest guy in my colony drives a Maruti.
But one of my neighbour drives a BMW. Seven EMIs deep.
The Maruti owner has 5 crore in equities.
The BMW owner has 40 lakh in PF and a credit card balance.
In India, the car is the loudest signal.
And the most misleading one.
Unspent money in the bank is the truest metric of wealth.
Debt is what you park in the driveway.

@vikramchopra @cars24india I bought a car , but ur charges too expensive 10k for rc transfer, compulsory 11k as service tax, 1 yr warranty compulsory at extra cost... Approx 51k extra on top of advertised sale price.. not done..
English

Used car platforms, including mine (@cars24india), charge 15-20% more than local dealers
I hear this often, the number that comes from comparing just sticker prices but sticker prices are not the same as the cost of acquiring a car
We sell over 5,000 cars a month, making us the largest organised used-car dealer in India. If we were 15-20% more expensive with nothing to show for it, buyers would go elsewhere. Buyers have options. They compare. They still come back- because they find value.
So, when a local dealer quotes an initial price of Rs 5 lakh, that covers just the cost of car. It doesn't cover:
1. Car Insurance renewal: Rs 3,000 to 25,000 depending on age and cover type
2. RC transfer + agent fees: Rs 3,000 to 5,000 intrastate, more for interstate
3. Loan processing: up to 2.95% of the loan amount, plus documentation charges
4. Pre-purchase inspection: Rs 1,000 to 4,000 if you hire an expert. Zero if you skip it
5. Immediate and hidden repairs: the visible fixes like AC and brake pads are one part. The bigger risk is inheriting a major hidden repair because the odometer has been rolled back.
Our inspection data shows odometer tampering in an estimated 20% of pre-owned cars in the unorganised market. Tampered mileage means critical service milestones are much closer than advertised. Buyer absorbs: Rs 5,000 to Rs 30,000+, or significantly more if fraud is involved.
On a Rs 5 lakh car, those additions put you at Rs 5.5 to 6 lakh. On a Rs 8 lakh car, it can approach Rs 9 lakh.
When we price that same car at Rs 6 to 6.2 lakh, here's what's already inside that number: 300-point inspection and refurbishment, Odometer verification via ECU readout , 30-day repair cover on engine, transmission, cooling and electrical systems, a 30-day return window, RC transfer with legal protection during the interim and embedded loan processing.
The actual cost gap, once you account for what each party includes, is smaller than most comparisons suggest. In many cases it reverses. And no single transaction can define this.
The platform, like ours, is most useful for the 75% of buyers who are buying their first car and are not in a position to execute these steps themselves.

@IDFCFIRSTBank every day 3-4 automated calls I'm receiving, I don't have any account with you, nor do I'm interested in loan, if there's any account in my name, I would taking legal action..

@MaazMz I went with family to the Honda showroom, I kept looking and roaming but no one attended me, they were literally busy yapping among themselves. I went to the Hyundai showroom, where I was attended on priority, bought CRETA. There wasn't a single thing not to like about it.

@volklub Bought Jazz 30k driven 2019 model, monthly 2500km usage..
English

Buy a used car under 7L if running is under 500 km monthly
I always recommend buying a new car because it is stress free, comes with warranty and good for first 4-5 years but lately because of this constant ethanol increase worry, DPF headache in Diesel and countless ongoing issues in EV ownership...
It is recommended that you get a used Maruti, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai or KIA car from any known source, less than 60K km driven, non-accidental and with min 2 airbags.
The perks of buying a new car aren't there anymore with constant headaches. If you get one, please drive it as much as possible in 5-6 years to squeeze max value.

@saurabhppincha 2019 in 2026 = 7 years old. Most insurers cap zero dep at 5 years.
That window's closed.
Look at engine protection cover instead - that's the one worth having on an older car.
English

Three things I always tell people about car insurance:
1️⃣ Always buy zero depreciation add-on — non-negotiable on cars above ₹8L
2️⃣ Go to the official brand service centre first — always
3️⃣ Keep the damaged part — don't let anyone throw it away at the spot
GoDigit handled this one clean. No drama.
Have you ever made a car insurance claim? How did it go - smooth or a nightmare?
Drop YES (smooth) or NO (nightmare) 👇

@TaraBull Dear Owner, If your business model relies on customers paying your staff’s wages directly because you won’t, you don’t have a viable business. You have an exploitation scheme. Shut it down.

@DrSarvapriya what... u booked ur ticket on spicejet just to save few bucks, who on earth does that..... Salute...

Read till the end:
SpiceJet cancelled my Delhi to Srinagar flight (PNR: H8FKMY) today. It was at 11:15 am, and they informed me only at 9:20 am. I was taking my 60+ old parents to Kashmir for their anniversary. They travelled all the way from Rohtak, reached the airport on time, only to be told there’s no flight today. Their entire plan for the next 5 days is ruined.
When I tried to rebook for today, fares were already higher. And the moment I clicked “pay,” the price jumped another 40%.
So, I booked for tomorrow, but it cost way more than the SpiceJet tickets I paid for. SpiceJet says they’ll refund the cancelled flight but what about the extra money I had to pay? What about hotels refusing refunds for the lost day? What about the taxi costs and the stress my old parents had to go through?
Just for my own curiosity, I tried cancelling the Indigo flight I booked for tomorrow. Guess what? They wanted more than ₹5,000 per ticket as cancellation fee, just 10 minutes after booking.
All this in the name of “base fare” and “fuel surcharge.” Base fare they’ll recover anyway by selling the seat at a higher price to someone else. And fuel surcharge? Is fuel price fluctuating every single minute?
Airlines and apps happily charge “convenience fees,” but when they ruin your plans, there’s no inconvenience fee for passengers. No cancellation fees for passengers. Just a cold “write mail to us.” You may get a voucher from their airline.
The staff at the counter have no power, yet they’re the ones who face all the anger. The real decision-makers sit on annual packages worth crores, but don’t lift a finger when it comes to fixing anything real.
FYI: At European airports, airlines are required to give a full refund and pay up to £600 to passengers when they cancel a flight. Even if it’s an Indian airline operating there, the same rule applies. These airlines pay compensation there, even for a flight delay. But what about Indian Janta?
We’re not flying for free, we pay taxes on every single ticket we buy. GST, User development fees, airport charges and even for our security.
Anyway, DGCA rules say 24 hours’ notice is required before cancelling. Why was this ignored? Staff claimed “technical fault” in the plane, but I doubt it. I want SpiceJet to share how many seats were actually booked for this flight. Was the flight only 30-40% full and cancelled for that reason? I didn’t see many passengers stranded there.
These airlines keep sinking and government keeps negotiating. Aviation minister, where are you? Ministers fight for cabinet seats, they take one, enjoy the power and go, but ordinary people keep suffering because of government’s policies. At least one minister has to set an example.
I want answers. And I want real compensation, not just vouchers or empty apologies.
