@MJGold Its a problem on each level. In CA why shouldnt a HS level athlete be able to compete unattached in a college or pro race without the CIF penalizing them? Who cares? So many problems in this sport.

NCAA track = College athletes only. High School track = High school athletes only. Olympic track = Olympians once every four years. Pro track (aka “Track”) = All of the above. Anybody else think this may be a problem for the “Pro” athletes in non Olympic years?

@CitiusMag Just switch years with Nike for who holds indoors. So dumb how you both do it on the same weekend thus watering both events down. When you do this its obvious you just need/want a few bucks.

@stevemagness Not only that, you are better off going the total opposite route and hitting the sauna. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P… Ice baths, however, have been found to be useful in acute situations, such as inflammation during rounds of racing where fitness adaptations have already occurred.

New meta-analysis finds that taking an ice bath after strength training impairs gains. The inflammation, damage, stress is the SIGNAL for adaptation. Take it away...we blunt the response. Sometimes, damage is a good thing...

@saveCAsports Drevan Anderson Kaapa anchored our 4x400, split some 46s and ran right at 32min for 10k XC Anthony Coleman split 47 low and ran 24:00 over 8k XC. We had a few others who were in that range.

But the athletes didn't care. Did we get better is all that mattered. And we had a handful of guys who ran solid over 10k in XC splitting 46-47s on the 4x400... So I think we did a good job developing speed and power...

@saveCAsports The tempo warm up is only before certain workouts and we are going to try it pre race this year. Day before a race is 2x150 at race pace. We only run one 1500 a year, so we don’t really change the day before, we just keep the same routine
