@CBoomerVazquez Public input matters!! If residents hadn’t documented the Calusa Rookery and brought it to the BCC during the zoning process, the developer would have razed it to build more houses. We deserve a chance to be part of local decisions.

@CBoomerVazquez Keeping it real...I live in District 8 of Unincorporated Dade. I vote. I pay attention. I write emails. The BCC ignores us whenever it suits them. They fill their PC's with $$$ via the controversial CDMP applications. So what's the difference?

I was right 4 years ago:
- enviro study was wrong
- tricolored heron were nesting
- rare rookery on the property
- notice was insufficient
I’m right again now.
This proposed plan is still not good enough. #SaveCalusa

She didn't defer because of what the residents complained about or the old traffic study or the WRONG info on the FWC permit application. @RaquelRegalado deferred the #Calusa development because she can count votes. politicalcortadito.com/2026/02/20/no-…

This is not how zoning decisions should be made or influenced.
Developers should really have to disclose this on the record before a vote is held…

🧵1/5 GL Homes is still trying to rezone Calusa. Since 2012, GL Homes has given at least $558K to county level politics, with $420.5K to the current/recently resigned commissioners & mayor. They made 223 contributions using 58 different names averaging $2,387 per contribution.
