@SaveSection9 Neither does the Columbia St Waterfront District & if the BMT Redevelopment goes through we won’t even be able to see it. They’re proposing up to nineteen 30 & 40 story buildings in 6-7 blocks, completely walling us off from the water! But the ultra rich need their views! 🤬

@infopobn 💯 bingo! Last line explains it all! Instead of becoming a more accessible city for all this city is going backwards and exacerbating it for seniors, the disabled & others with mobility issues, all to appease these special interest groups

There were a few 'allowed' 45 seconds at the end so that the Chair could 'hurry-up-shut-up' those that were beginning to dissent... Total TA ringer take-over of CB7

@infopobn @PassengersUnite @BrooklynBus The discrimination against seniors & the disabled in this city is criminal. Not everyone can ride a bike. But they’ll find out when they get old or are mobile impaired & can’t get around in this city.

@BKBPReynoso Are you still accepting Real Estate money? Thr answer is yes. Let’s be real, you’re doing this because you work for real estate, not the people. You’re not building affordable housing that’s affordable for most New Yorkers. People are waking up to your bs. 🤡

Last year, New Yorkers gave Borough Presidents—alongside the Mayor and City Council Speaker—the power to overturn votes that kill or weaken affordable housing proposals.   Now, I'm leading the charge with a process that is grounded in data and takes the politics out of planning.

Over two decades, from 2000 to 2020, New York City lost nearly 200,000 Black folks, or about 9 percent of its Black residents. These losses have been particularly notable in historically Black strongholds like Bedford-Stuyvesant and Harlem. nymag.visitlink.me/OsCr7u

“As time passes, it’s become clear that having the home I want probably means leaving New York.” In a new essay, Naomi Jackson writes about how a notable number of Black residents are leaving the city — no longer able to afford it. nymag.visitlink.me/dmg7Gl
