Save Coton Corridor 🍃💚🍃
@savecromelea
Campaigning to stop the Greater Cambridge Partnership from destroying the Coton Corridor, one of the most prominent landscapes in Cambridge.

Sorry for the dreadful commentary but this is a depressing site.

I was trying to take a break, but the councillor’s gaslighting couldn’t be left unchallenged. It isn’t “just” Coton Orchard that will be cut in half but also family farms across @MadingleyHill, which will be taken out of food production. Hundreds of mature trees are set to be felled along the route, including within a City Wildlife Site beside M11, and thousands of tonnes of concrete will be poured that will take 60 years just to offset. The harm to nature is far from the “short term” impact he implies. An off-road route isn’t operationally necessary, as over 50% of the journey will be on-road. For more facts, visit @CotonBusway website.

@lin6_thomas @CotonView @CotonBuzz Clearly Dave didn’t bother to read their own EIA statement before voting to bury Coton Orchard under concrete … 490 “fruit” trees, there will also be a loss of hundreds of non-fruit tress (oak, ash, elder…) and 1.3km of hedgerows 🌳🍎🚌❌ #SaveCotonOrchard
