Everyone knows you should have questions ready for a college visit. But the quality of your questions does two important things: 1️⃣ Shows the coach you put real thought into the visit 2️⃣ Gets the coach to open up about things that actually impact your development Here’s a powerful question to ask on a college visit: 👇

Is the camp you’re considering a real recruiting opportunity… or just a fundraiser for the program? Not all camps are created equal. Some put you in front of decision-makers. Others just help keep the lights on. Former Division I junior college coach and pro scout Joe Perez breaks down the key factors families should consider before investing time and money into a camp. If you want to be strategic about where you’re seen — this is a must-watch. 👀⚾️

You may hear this during your recruiting journey: “Why not D1?” or “You could play at a higher level.” Here’s what every athlete needs to understand ⬇️ College softball is not about chasing a division — it’s about finding the right fit. Every division (D1, D2, D3, NAIA, JUCO) offers: • High-level coaching • Competitive softball • Academic opportunity • Personal and athletic development What actually matters: ✅ Feeling valued as a person, not just a roster spot ✅ Clear communication and honesty from the coaching staff ✅ Academic fit and support ✅ Opportunity to develop and contribute ✅ Team culture and environment Choosing a school based only on division can lead to: • Burnout • Limited playing opportunities • Poor academic or personal fit • Transferring later The goal is not the “highest level.” The goal is the right level — for YOU. Go where you feel supported, challenged, and at home. That’s how athletes thrive long-term. Every opportunity to play college softball is a blessing. Choose wisely. Choose fit.

Step 6 of the Recruiting Process: Communicate. Follow Up. Organize. It’s about: • How you communicate • How fast you respond • What you say • The questions you ask • How often you follow up (yes—more than once) • Who you’re talking to and where you stand with each program Most players send one message… Then wait. Then assume “no response” means “no interest.” That’s not how recruiting works. When done right, consistent communication + organized follow-up creates leverage. And leverage leads to options. This is where our advisory system gives players a real edge and helps them stay organized. Recruiting isn’t about chasing one school. It’s about building multiple suitors who see you as a fit.
