California's age-appropriate design code blocked on FA grounds. Will be interesting to see how this impacts things with the UK's AADC still out there. Will US state laws that followed CA's lead meet a similar fate?

Every year for three decades I’ve renewed my lawyer license here in Pennsylvania, and every year they send me a formal-looking card confirming that I’m licensed. I dutifully put it in my wallet. No one has ever asked to see it. Not once. 1/

So Florida's privacy bill hit the finish line last night and appears, if I'm reading right, to have been whittled down obligations. Pair this with the coverage thresholds dilemma and I'm struggling to give this law the same fanfare I've given others.

Florida looks ready to re-join the new US privacy bill bandwagon in 2023 with a "Digital Bill of Rights" that includes data localization rules, reference to data protection, and a mandate to protect minors from online harm.
