@Dave_White Agree- compared to other B1G schools, Pike got a bag of chips...stale ones. He has a GM. We're all pretty sure that Zinn is providing him with at least respectable funding to build the roster. Next year, his buyout drops from $22 million to I think $13M. Still too much but....

I know I'm in the vocal minority--I'm glad Pikiell is coming back. Give him the resources and let's see what happens. He had the best 4 year stretch of Rutgers basketball in the last 30 years. He deserves it. If he fails, we know which way this will go, but I am rooting for him.

@StevePoliti It means, because the Raiders won, that the Giants did not get the #1 pick in the draft - which they desperately needed. The Mara's are big on culture wins and symbolic victories - which is why they are the worst ownership in professional sports.

Democrats are NOT “fighting for health care.” They CREATED the (UN)Affordable Care Act — which has made costs SKYROCKET.  Now, they want to subsidize insurance companies with even MORE taxpayer money to hide their policy failures. Republicans are actually making health care more affordable — ending waste, fraud, and abuse, protecting care for seniors, the disabled, and pregnant women, and saving taxpayers BILLIONS. If the media were honest, that would be in every story they write.

I'm interested to see what a Mikie Sherrill governorship means for N.J. sports. The last two governors were EXTREMELY interested in sports at all levels — @GovChristie was a fill-in host on WFAN, @GovMurphy a soccer team owner and a regular at Rutgers games.

@StevePoliti Still a lot to learn about how money will be made and spent (see B1G equity moves). But seems that if there are any lessons to learn (do we EVER learn?) then long term contracts are simply not sustainable outside of a handful of schools. Which then leads to super league talk.

Sorry. This is insane. College football has never been less about the "cult of coach" and more about the ability to procure and pay talent. Why are these schools still guaranteeing these ridiculous contracts?

He said it himself — “every day of the shutdown gets better” for his party. But worse for Americans.

My thoughts on a new era for Rutgers Athletics: 1) Keli Zinn mentioned alignment 5 different times during her introductory press conference. Her working relationship and history of success with President Tate uniquely positions them to have a strong partnership at Rutgers.

@aaron_breitman Rutgers has been "plagued" with too many insiders (yes, RU grads) and those lacking bigtime experience in jey posts. It siubds great, hiring alums, but we've thought too small for too long. This point is spot on.

3) Zinn having the opportunity to build her own staff with so many key positions open at the same time is another break of good luck. What was a liability a week ago for Rutgers is now a potential advantage to kickstarting positive change within the athletic department.

@aaron_breitman I'm concerned about cutting programs. RU only has sports that are in the B1G, and not in all of them (e.g. men's tennis & swimming). Although it would like Rutgers to be better financially, I don't think the conference would necessarily like any losses from conference sports.

5) Zinn made comments about needing to improve department finances and evaluating historical venues along with the need to modernize facility wise. That signals an eventual long & hard look on whether Rutgers maintains 24 athletic programs & what the future of the RAC looks like.

@BarstoolRU 1 football, 1 basketball, 2 wrestling, 1 M Soccer, 1 W Soccer, 1 field hockey, 2 M lacrosse, 1 softball. As someone said, spread the wealth, but I'm a wrrestling guy. Repeats in any sport are tough.

Say Rutgers wins 10 national championships across all sports from now until the end of your lifetime If you had the chance to choose, how would they be split among the different sports?
