@SaraONeillArt @KNEECAPCEOL I think I can see myself in that picture. What a gig!
English

I’ve been to a lot of gigs, seen many class bands but last night was something else. The energy was like a punk gig in Giros 20 years ago (a serious compliment, for those who weren’t there) but with 9000 people instead of 300. Maith sibh @KNEECAPCEOL.

@LadyCatHT @DaniGaravelli1 It is actually the Friday we have tickets for, so not the closing night as they had gone by the time I tried to get them. Yes, you can share the wrecking ball!
English

@DaniGaravelli1 Nothing stops the bold @scarygurrl when she puts her mind to it. I have her to thank! (For Shed tickets, Shed nights out and so much else) D - do you mind if I share the photo of us when you dressed as the wrecking ball? Or even DM it to Dani?

@HorneSupremacy @wilfreeborn @scarykt That’s so lovely! What a thoughtful idea is it a present for your mum?
English

I commissioned @wilfreeborn to paint the lovely, beautiful, grand tenement @scarykt and I grew up in with our lovely, beautiful, grand parents, Marjory and Norman, and I couldn't be more delighted about the final work of art and corresponding with the fantastic Wil throughout! 🎨

@LadyCatHT I guess I will have to give it a miss then. I get very travel sick and the extra shoogles don’t sound like the best thing for me

If you’ve ridden the Glasgow subway recently and felt frustrated that it seems so much slower, you’re not merely impatient. After a £200m upgrade on new rolling stock, the system is now running slower than it did in Victorian times 👇

@Aldi_Ireland I just went to your store and my boyfriend picked up a pack of tomato and burrata ravioli. Unfortunately, when we got home, we realised that it was best before yesterday. I’m currently not very well so might not be able to get back into store, so can you help?
English

@Killybegsgirl This looks amazing! I still haven’t made the trip down yet, but this might tip me over the edge
English

What gives with @AerLingus , I’ve been trying to book flights for the last few days but website doesn’t seem to be working. So annoying
English

@sophiefernley Ahhh. I’m so pleased it’s not just me. I’ve been so upset about it today

Homeowners refusing to leave their houses will become a much larger issue with climate change, and you will begin hearing more and more about it.. The example below is particularly absurd with a $16mm mansion, but it's simply one of the early examples.
in 2001, I was studying this very issue in my STS classes. Homeowners would expect local government to "fix" flooding issues, even when it was totally unrealistic. But local governments are reluctant to finally say "no" (which they call "managed retreat") -- even when they drain their funds to protect a few wealthy homeowners whose houses are already doomed.
In America, we believe that our house is an investment, but we *also* believe the government exists to protect its value. (This belief is responsible for NIMBYs causing mayhem across the country.) So far, nobody in government has had the power and willingness to say no. But as the costs soar into the billions, we will have to.
This American Life #762 has an amazing episode about exactly this, which I'll link below. Remember: money is political

NEW: The owner of a $16M California mansion that is on the verge of falling into the ocean, is refusing to leave his home. 82-year-old Lewis Bruggeman says his house is "fine" & isn't worried about it falling into the ocean after a recent storm eroded the cliffside. "The house is fine, it's not threatened and it will not be red-tagged. The city agrees that there's no major structural issue with the house," the Dana Point home owner said. The National Weather Service predicts more rain will be hitting the LA area next week, warning of more mud slides.
