@deadeye_21 Growing up my dad always made sure we had some available while vaccinating cattle. 10 years ago had a large steer go down after fall shots. Grabbed the epinephrine and he was up and going again a few minutes later. He alone paid for all the bottles that expired over the years!
Processed a group last night and had a calf laid out convulsing a few minutes after vaccinating
Thankfully had epinephrine on hand and administered (lost one for years ago so always carry now)
He’s in this group somewhere heading back out 👍
How common is this?
@studlymitchee Every road I can see looks blocked except maybe I80. Haven’t decided if want to try dropping back that far south to see if it’s open to GI.
When stranded 200 miles from home for the second day and every highway route is closed, I told my daughter to be thankful that we’re in a town and not stuck in a snow drift somewhere on the highway! #Gerri#Nebraska#Blizzard
The last roundup! Made the tough decision to get rid of the cows. Kids are growing up too fast and between the cows and my job I needed to find some time. And letting go of my job wasn’t an option!😂😂 12-19-23 at ALM is where they find their new homes!
@kctengineer I haven’t had any issues finding parts on the older ones and can’t say how many hours on an overhaul as my use has been limited over the years.
@schaaftr Are you running into a parts availability for your older tractors? And, how many hours on an engine before it needs to be over hauled, in general? tnx
I’ve definitely dealt with much more massive snow drifts in the past but the amount of snow left on the flat after the last two storms is impressive! Good moisture but I’d prefer the type that doesn’t need scooped!
@AbelsFred I’ve spent a lot of money and labor the last 17 years building my place up to where I could easily and safely work the cattle and now I look at it empty and it’s tough. But my brother will rent my pasture and I can always get back in at a later time.
@schaaftr Sold ours 4 years ago this coming spring. I miss seeing them out there in the pastures. Too much mud and equipment was needing replaced at the time.
In north central Nebraska it’s 5*6 bales as far as the eye can see. Currently in southeast Kansas and all we see are 4*6 bales. Wondering if there’s a reason or if the 4*6 salesmen were just that good!🤷♀️
