To be fair, Joe Biden inherited an economy ravaged by Covid which Donald Trump wildly mismanaged. The country was recovering well (relative to other countries) when Trump took over and made a series of bad decisions that are destroying the economy we had just rebuilt.

Inflation averaged 5.2% under Biden. Even with a war and tariffs to rebalance global trade March core annual CPI rose 2.6%

I’ll refer you to the Selma protests, and George Wallace, also known as Bloody Sunday. The world saw nonviolent protestors violently attacked on a bridge by their own government for wanting to vote. It was so horrific that a few days later Lyndon B Johnson presented the Voting Rights Act to Congress. Obviously, these protestors shouldn’t lose their lives, but it isn’t futile to attack Trump and Vance. Trump is reactionary and easily embarrassed. He would absolutely hate it if protestors showed up at his rallies and disrupted them in the same fashion they did Kamala Harris on her book tour. That would generate a lot of media coverage and create the disruption they’re looking for. But many of them won’t do it because it was more important to make the Democrats pay than to actually hold power accountable consistently.

@tishkabibble @VeraGavrilovna @krystalball @hasanthehun I realize you feel that this is a false choice, but it's the one we have in reality. And saying that people should be single-issue Palestine voters is playing right into Israel's hands--it means we keep electing right-wing people who will fund Israel forever.

@tishkabibble @VeraGavrilovna @krystalball @hasanthehun It's funny, on the left we're all pointing fingers at each other saying, "You're equating Israel with all Jews!" when the only people actually doing that are the Republicans. My point was that Individual donors to PACs might donate to candidates for any number of other reasons.

@schmerco @VeraGavrilovna @krystalball @hasanthehun I don’t think you should be making assumptions about her intent when time and time again when people are questioning Israel’s genocide in Gaza they are labeled antisemitic. Slotkin and her ilk are equating all Jewish people with the state of Israel. That seems antisemitic to me

@schmerco @VeraGavrilovna @krystalball @hasanthehun Liberal Zionist 2 state solutions. It's nonsense and will never fix the systemic issues. The only real solution is one state which is a sovereign democratic nation comprised of everyone in the entirity of Palestine with right of return offered to the Diaspora and reparations.

@schmerco @VeraGavrilovna @krystalball @hasanthehun The reason Trump is in the white house is due to years of "lesser evil" voting which inevitably lead to a situation where the options became fascism or fascism-lite. Either way it's fascism. The world needs drastic differences in approach and action.
