@VicLombardi I don’t think this answers “who cares”. Like, yeah, everyone isn’t going to know a basketball player that last played in 1986 nor does knowing that improve a person or society in any way. It’s not shocking at all someone under 40 wouldn’t know him. So again, who cares?

I'm genuinely curious: Why do people take pride in imbecility? This doesn't make you cool. You're talking about one of the greatest scorers of his era. Why do people on this app take pride in not knowing the original Ice Man? What is this revolution? What happened to learning?

@torongom @TheNBABase A handful of illegitimate championships doesn't equal dynasty. Especially since the first one was against a depleted Cavs team without Kyrie and they needed KD to save them to win their next one. Nowhere near a dynasty

Draymond Green on why Tyler Hansbrough’s game didn't translate to the NBA after being "unstoppable" in college “He was really good on those UNC teams. I had the opportunity to play against him, he was unstoppable. They went to him every time; he was extremely strong. Tyler Hansbrough, he was relentless and in college, that relentless type of attitude works. In the NBA, you kind of got to have a little more skill and I just don’t think Tyler Hansbrough had the skill. He also didn’t have the athleticism that the bigs had that he was going up against. And so in turn, I just don’t think it translated as well. Don’t get me wrong, Tyler Hansbrough still had a respectable NBA career, It just didn’t turn out to be who he was at North Carolina. No one in the NBA was just going to throw Tyler Hansbrough the ball and say, ‘Go get us a bucket.’ It wasn’t fluid enough, it was too rugged. It was, ‘Ah, I’m going to go through you.’ Just ultimately, he didn’t live up to what he was in college and maybe people were expecting from him. But in this NBA, you have to play a role. Unless you’re Steph Curry or LeBron James, you must play a role and that’s kind of what happened.” (Via @DraymondShow )

Imagine being so bad at PR, that you almost manage to make Skip Bayless look reasonable. This was a layup. All you had to do was post something about how you don't mean any disrespect to a legend, and how you want to work with Gervin on this in a cooperative manner. I suggest you either fire the PR people you have now, or hire some asap, because this was so easy to defuse.
Caleb Williams@CALEBcsw

Idc about where your fandom stands. I was trying give you and everyone else the benefit of the doubt. About knowing business and being smart about it. But I guess not. Foolish of me! Also words matter Skip Bayless. “Steal” Enjoy that podcast.

@freddietarian @JCowleyHoops What do you mean "y'all". He's been a Chicago reporter for years. There are plenty of us Bears fans that find the whole thing stupid.

Would like to see the reaction from Chicago fans if Jahmyr Gibbs wanted to now go by “Sweetness” or the defensive minded Spurs would like to be called “Monsters of the Midway.” Signed “Air” Cowley.

@ManaByte Most of those sale numbers came out AFTER the game was 'free to claim' on Epic. Most of those 'sold copies' aren't even sold, they were given away for free

Hogwarts Legacy sold 40M copies, even with a performative internet boycott. The Harry Potter series could be the biggest series in HBO history.

@aliwhitesox Am I a bad fan if I think it’s a little much to start the season for a team that always sucks? There’s really only so much that’s really worth getting worked up about with the White Sox. The fanbase does not often say “I won’t die on this hill”.

@77Blazers Amaze your friends with the answer to the "Who Led the 1984 US Olympic Team in Assists?" question. (Which is surprising when you see that Chris Mullin was on that team, and Jordan (of course).)

I noticed in the early part of the game that former NBA player Leon Wood was reffing. I was telling one of the interns about him and looked up his stats. I noticed it was his 64th birthday today. During a free throw, I stood up and wished him a Happy Birthday. He turned and looked at me, smiled, and gave me a nod. Made my day. #RipCity

Does this silly little man not understand that Islam is a very aggressive belief system, threatening death to anyone who does not convert to Islam The Buddhists, the Taoists, the Scottish Presbyterians, the Hindus and the Sikhs and the Confucians and the Catholics don't go around shouting about beheading people they disagree with Is this too much for your tiny little brain to take in ? Oh. The doorbell rang. The police I assume...

Indeed. Whenever Jews are attacked (typically by Muslims), it is important to redouble our efforts to fight against Islamophobia.

@akashmuni27 @volcaholic1 Solved? These have proven to be too expensive to build and operate. Not to mention the environmental impact. What is being solved is energy storage. Lots of ways to store energy and becoming cheaper over time.

China’s solar power plant in Dunhuang uses around 12,000 mirrors to focus sunlight onto a central tower, heating molten salt to extreme temperatures. That heat is stored and used to generate electricity on demand, including after sunset.
