Do you know what I’m fed up of? Being so exhausted on Saturdays that I’m too tired to do anything but sleep. Then having to rush around all Sunday getting housework and schoolwork done. Leaves me feeling like I’ve done nothing for me and stressed for Monday. 😩

In my last few leadership posts I asked three things my new SLT. 1. No surprises. If the fat is going to hit fire tell me about it before I hear from a parent, governor or elected member. That way I can prepare to support you.

@MrsHeadteacher Before we had small children I used to do the same. Next year I might book myself in for 24 hours in a hotel and leave the under 5s with my husband!

Slept / dozed in front of the TV without moving or speaking for 2 days and now feel like I have energy again. Is there any other profession that leaves you this exhausted at the start of a holiday?

@EytSara I was in the same position as you - finished my pgce didn’t get a place for sept and went on supply. That was 14 years ago, I’m now an assistant head. Don’t let it get you down - your school is out there x

Finished my PGCE without securing a permanent role for September - had 2 interviews with feedback saying I did well though. I’m registering for supply work, does anyone have any words of advice about starting out on supply please?
