The magic word "if"...it'd be so interesting to see how administrators (e.g., principal, curriculum specialist, asst. supt.) plan meetings that follow/use similar templates to model.

@DarylAMichel @HeidiHayesJacob If used and understood correctly, lesson plan templates are a wonderful help for teachers in a world where reading programs can be overwhelming. Templates are not the templates of years gone by.

I couldn't agree more @HeidiHayesJacob with your writing about lesson plan templates and what some administrators expect (e.g., it's seen as a bureaucratic endeavor, written and submitted for compliance and not written for students).

Spent a few days visiting a district that was last in state for reading. Now, they're at/near the top. We brought people from NY, CA, Mizzou, Ga, and NM to see it. Poverty, English Learners, Diverse- it can be done. Ignore the naysayers. Leadership, coaching, curriculum, culture.

Nothing else to say. KJW is spot on. This is exactly what is happening to children when we fail to teach them the proper techniques.
