@LanceMi85530671 David Pocock appears influenced by Canberra's political dynamics. While supporting certain policies, he receives backing from LNP on select issues. This dynamic permitted by Dutton, aligning Pocock with the LNP during election considerations.

@cheryl_kernot @abcnews More accurately he's a conservative gob for hire
English

Yes @abcnews You need to update your contacts’ book. He is NOT an elected or accepted leader of anyone. He is a businessman- with a mixed record there, as well.

On Elon Musk’s comments on the Labour Gvt being a tyrannical police state:
@SamCoatesSky “If we were talking about a figure close to the Kremlin we would be asking the question whether this was foreign interference “
English

@RonniSalt Totally unfit. Given his statements since announcing they wouldn't pursue robodebt, it's in fact difficult to think that anyone less suitable could have been appointed.
English

Brereton & co decided very early on that they wouldn't pursue this - very early.
They then spent the next 12 months waiting for the right time to drop the bomb and naively believed everyone would simply accept it and walk away
Brereton is unfit to lead this organisation

The no of times those in a pos. to act at the #RobodebtRC insisted they didn’t “turn” their “mind” to doing their job was disgraceful. The fact NACC Commr Brereton now uses this excuse to justify why he didn’t do his job on Robodebt & hold any1 to account is extremely disturbing

@jeromelaxale You guys haven't exactly covered yourselves in glory either. Unless you tackle the systemic causes of highly inflated housing costs, you're really just pissing into the wind
English

Cool. So what was the point of all that then?
HAFF delayed by months and months slowed down the construction of homes.
Help to Buy delays have kept Australians out of their first homes.
The Greens antics have made our housing crisis harder to address. Shame on them #auspol
Josh Butler@JoshButler
Greens say they will "wave through" the government's Help to Buy housing bill, after seeking to negotiate for months on various requests for support Adam Bandt: "There comes a point where you’ve pushed as far as you can"

@tamid_1948 @mhdksafa Tell that to Netanyahu, he doesn't want them back
English

@lesstenny Not sure if you're aware, but we have this thing called preferential voting in Australia. You're welcome 😁

What a joke the outrage over public funding for election parties and election is.
You have got to be kidding me!
We have WHINGED for decades about dodgy donations, vested interest, cash for favourable policies
Labor introduce a policy heading in the right direction and you all gaslight with the cost living crisis.
Get f....

@PapaPrickly @strangerous10 Not even local, they've been taking it National. What better way to spend their funds?
English

@strangerous10 It appears that the NACC investigation priority is which local cafe has the best muffins and coffee. Full staff resources are committed and the evidence is piling up but still not sufficient.
English

As Deputy Chief Minister Nicole Manison signed a secret gas purchase deal with Texan fracking corporate Tamboran, probably worth $ 100s of millions… if not more, even though the gas project wasn’t approved.
Then walks straight into a job with them.

@RonniSalt @jommy_tee If he didn't realise that he shouldn't take any part in discussions relevant to robodebt after "recusal", hr has no business being involved in the law, let alone the head of a corruption commission. I don't think anyone believes he was that incompetent that he wasn't aware.
English

More from @jommy_tee
As pointed out by many of us (repeatedly) the fact that the Commissioner Paul Brereton sat in on and participated in discussions on Robodebt, discussions involving his close friend of over 30 years, was an appalling oversight and error of judgment.
#NACC #Robodebt

English

So . . . the @NACCgovau is now reneging on its decision not to examine the #Robodebt referral.
The NACC Inspector (the one you all wrote to) has pointed out errors in law in relation to the decisions the Commissioner & Dep Commissioner made.
What a farce of an organisation.

@THEDONBOY A pretty good list of some of the dumbest and most awful people in parliament
English

@alikenya @crikey_news @BernardKeane Exactly, not exactly an unbiased opinion, she's hardly going to walk back on her commentary at the time (which was awful and at times up there with Dr Nick)
English

@crikey_news @BernardKeane Catherine Bennett is one of the ppl behind the report.
Wasn't she one of those that was not into Covid mitigation practices in the earlier days of Covid?
English

The evidence is in. Daniel Andrews' pandemic lockdowns were unjustified, enforced disproportionately against some communities, and hurt Victorians, writes @bernardkeane. #Echobox=1730264872" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">crikey.com.au/2024/10/30/cov…

Robbie Katter to ‘test the parliament’ on abortion as Queensland election count continues theguardian.com/australia-news…

@davrosz "Told you so" just doesn't seem adequate.
@DavidCrisafulli's first test will be reining in the fundamentalists in the LNP that will be frothing at the bit to trash the rights of women.

@SquigglyRick "This is no different" lol. Incredible lack of awareness. He must stop taking us all for fools and resign immediately.
English

@YaThinkN I don't know why people think this is the end of the world. Its not as dramatic as the media makes out. For most people its simple. Less regulation = stronger economy.
It's that simple. Young guys are in built to want to progress and build.
