After overnight data showed an interruption in helium flow in the SLS interim cryogenic propulsion stage, teams are troubleshooting and preparing for a likely rollback of Artemis II to the VAB at @NASAKennedy. This will almost assuredly impact the March launch window. @NASA will continue to provide updates as they become available.

@scidav87 @TLPN_Official I hate to say it, but this is what happens when NASA is handcuffed by congress, and forced to rely on old technology.....

🚨 BREAKING! Artemis II WDR Communication Issue Teams in the firing room at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center are currently dealing with a ground communications issueand have switched to backup communication methods to maintain safe command and control. The Launch Director has chosen to hold the current vehicle configuration while engineers troubleshoot. • Liquid oxygen (LOX) fast fill continues • Transition to liquid hydrogen (LH₂) fast fill is delayed Controllers are maintaining a stable vehicle state as they work the problem and ensure all systems remain safe. #NASA #ArtemisII #WDR #SLS #SLSTesting #Space #Artemis

Almost done with a full overview of the Artemis II mission. I’m gonna hold onto this one until about T - 3 days until launch to maximize performance. Once “in the bank” I’ll continue my big fat Artemis deep dive 🙌

Engineers conducted a first run at terminal countdown operations during the test, however, the countdown stopped at 5 minutes left due to a spike in the liquid hydrogen leak rate. Crew safety remains the highest priority.

Due to weather, we now plan to fuel our Artemis II Moon rocket on Monday, Feb. 2, at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. With this adjustment, the earliest possible launch date is Sunday, Feb. 8. A launch date will be set after teams have reviewed the results of the wet dress rehearsal. Read more: go.nasa.gov/4rrJ9Xc

58 years after Apollo 8’s historic trip around the Moon, NASA is heading back. This time, our crew is going farther into space than any human in history. Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen will embark on a ten-day mission around the Moon, marking America’s grand return to the lunar environment. Artemis II marks the beginning of the boldest series of missions the world has ever seen. Through the Artemis campaign, we will maintain American superiority in space, land American astronauts on the Moon, and establish a lunar base all before the end of 2028. Godspeed Artemis II 🇺🇸
