Seeing friends in the timeline for the first time in a long time today. It feels exciting & encouraging that maybe it will make sense to start posting real content here again

Would you rather date… A) The beautiful mid who genuinely loves you, brings you peace, and would do anything for you. B) The absolute smoke show who’s insanely attractive… but every week there’s a new argument, a new headache, and you never know where you stand. Choose one.

Looking at him across the table, I knew it was the end. I wasn’t upset, or sad. It was much worse: I felt disappointment. Disappointed that I would never fit into his schedule. Disappointed that he probably wasn’t right for me. Because the worst part of dating isn’t the breakup, it’s starting over. I don’t care what your favorite color is. I don’t care what your love language is, or your attachment style, or your 5 year plan. All I know is that as lovely as the man sitting across from me was, he wasn’t my Mr. Right, he was: the man you meet before

@martyrdison @nickshirleyy One day, when you are older, you won't be beautiful anymore. Right now, you have a small window where you have opportunity to record your beauty. It won't be around forever, that's why it is so important to take pictures. So everyday without pictures is a waste.

@_shafinsiddique Altman sucks. At best, he could be a sales guy. He is horrible at public relations, he says the worst things publicly. He is a bad manger, losing early teams. The smartest people in the industry like Amodei won't work with him. This is incompetence. And a bad history of lying.

sam altman is probably the greatest ceo of our time. he practically has every major tech CEO investing hundreds of billions of dollars to compete with him, sometimes even colluding (see elon + zuck). I don't know if gates, zuck, or even elon had this level of competition when they were forming their companies. OpenAI still consistently churns out some of the best models and still emerges as the winner in almost every category. my only question is what did @paulg see during that 10 min YC interview

@Phixxer @courtneyknill Well I see now, these are all electronically controlled units. There is no lock on the front, so this is likely one of those lockers you control with a smart phone. Which adds another strange dimension since they could have used the system

@scipiosi @courtneyknill They're all built a little different the department probably wouldn't know how to unlatch it or how to direct it. My property had a master code and we could pop any door or all doors at once. We also had a physical key that would open the whole rack if power was out.

My two friends tracked every dating-related expense for 3 months in NYC… We wanted to settle the debate: What’s actually more expensive? Being single or having a girlfriend? Single: Dating apps: $300 10-15 first dates: $1,250 Weekend bar tabs trying to infield: $1,200 Ubers: $400 New clothes/grooming: $700 Late-night food: $350 Total: ~$4,200 In a relationship (what the guy pays for): Weekly date nights: total $900 Takeout & nights in: $500 Flowers/coffee/random gifts: $400 Ubers : $300 Weekend activities together: $700 Total: ~$2,800 I would’ve guessed the opposite?

@Phixxer @courtneyknill Clearly if there was a safety latch, the rescuers would directed him to use it. The better question is how he managed to close the door with his legs facing out

@courtneyknill I believe there is a latch inside but the kid wouldn't be able to find it but management have keys and a code to open those lockers in 5 seconds.

@yulikay @elonmusk Sam has a bad pattern of stretching the truth, even before Congress. He testified that he didn't own OpenAI shares, yet he has a significant ownership stake in Y Combinator, which itself owns OpenAI shares. It's another example of a tendency to rely on misleading statements.
