I've met with some of the worst guys on Earth - but Xi Jinping is without a doubt the coldest and most ruthless leader I've encountered. We should be under no illusions about his malign intentions toward the US or any power that challenges him on the world stage.

🚨 BREAKING: 🇺🇸🇨🇳🇮🇷 Trump and Xi agree Iran can NEVER have a nuclear weapon and the Strait of Hormuz must stay OPEN. - Xi opposes the militarization of the Strait and any effort to charge tolls for its use - China expressed interest in buying more U.S. oil to reduce its dependence on the Strait - Both sides aligned on the nuclear red line for Iran Source: The White House

🇨🇳🇺🇸 Looks like Elon brought Lil X along with him to Beijing! They were seen walking through the Great Hall of the People together. When the teacher asks “What did you do for Summer vacation?” on the first day of school next year, we know who will have the best answer 😂

For too long, Africa’s resources have been extracted, the value captured elsewhere, the environmental damage left behind. No more exploitation. No more plundering. The people of Africa must benefit - first & most - from the resources of Africa.

This is why Arsenal winning the league will be one of the best title wins in history. They are competing against the most corrupt institution sports has ever seen. 2 red cards & 2 penalties not given to Brentford to keep city in the title race.

🚨🇨🇳🇺🇸 China just sided with Trump's sanctions against Iranian oil refiners... Per Bloomberg, China's financial regulator instructed major banks to temporarily halt new loans to several refiners sanctioned by the U.S. over their ties to Iranian oil. The guidance affected companies including Hengli Petrochemical's Dalian refinery. Banks were told to review their exposure, avoid issuing new yuan-denominated credit, but maintain existing loans. This is enormous, and the timing tells you everything. The Trump-Xi summit is May 14-15. Eight days away. Beijing is signaling concession before Trump even arrives. The contradiction within China's own government makes the move even more revealing. The Ministry of Commerce publicly instructed Chinese companies to disregard U.S. sanctions. The financial regulator is now telling banks the opposite. Beijing is running two policies simultaneously, the public defiance for nationalist domestic consumption, and the private compliance for the actual leverage that matters in negotiations. The mechanism is also clever. Banks aren't being told to call existing loans, just to halt new ones. That preserves Beijing's ability to claim it isn't actively enforcing American sanctions while functionally making it impossible for the Iranian-linked refiners to expand operations. The sanctions architecture Trump built around Iran's oil sales just got real Chinese cooperation, even as Beijing publicly insists otherwise. For Trump, this is the kind of pre-summit signal that suggests Xi is genuinely willing to deal. Source: Bloomberg

🚨🇺🇸🇸🇦 BREAKING: Saudi Arabia refused U.S. access to its bases and airspace for Project Freedom, forcing Trump's suspension of the operation... Per NBC News citing two U.S. officials, Trump surprised Gulf allies by announcing Project Freedom on social media Sunday afternoon without coordinating with them first. Saudi Arabia was furious. The Kingdom informed the U.S. it would not allow the U.S. military to fly aircraft from Prince Sultan Airbase southeast of Riyadh, nor fly through Saudi airspace to support the operation. A direct call between Trump and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman did not resolve the issue. Trump was forced to pause Project Freedom specifically to restore U.S. military access to the airspace it needs. The Pentagon was actively lining up additional ships for transit when the operation got halted. This completely changes the narrative around Tuesday's pause. The official line was "great progress" toward a deal. The actual reason was that the U.S. couldn't continue the operation without Saudi airspace and the Saudis cut it off. Diplomacy may have been advancing in parallel, but the immediate trigger for stopping was operational impossibility, not strategic patience. Source: NBC News

🇨🇳🇳🇬 Nigeria, thanks to China, has started selling gasoline instead of just oil. China helped build the $20 billion Dangote Oil Refinery. As a result, approximately 44,000 barrels of gasoline were exported per day in March.

🇲🇱 Malian soldiers have been captured by Tuareg rebels fighting alongside JNIM (Al-Qaeda's Sahel affiliate) in an ongoing offensive. Mali kicked out French forces, brought in Wagner, and is now losing soldiers to rebels anyway. @TabzLIVE
Mario Nawfal@MarioNawfal

🇲🇱Mali is under coordinated attack right now. But what exactly is happening and why? Gunmen hit Bamako and several cities simultaneously this morning, including the main military base at Kati, home of military ruler General Goita, and areas near the international airport. Heavy weapons and automatic gunfire reported. Witnesses say there's gunfire everywhere and a helicopter is patrolling the capital. Attacks also reported in Sevare, Kidal, and Gao in the north. At least 2 groups are behind this. The Azawad Liberation Front, a coalition of Tuareg and Arab separatists formed in late 2024, has been pushing for an independent homeland in northern Mali for decades. Alongside them, JNIM, al-Qaeda's West Africa affiliate, has been waging a parallel insurgency across the Sahel. Mali's military junta has been relying on Russian Africa Corps mercenaries since cutting ties with France in 2022. But Russian forces have reportedly been withdrawing from the north, and the FLA has been filling the vacuum fast. Earlier today, they raised their flag over a military base in Kidal and reportedly downed a Malian Air Force helicopter. This looks like an attempt to turn a regional insurgency into something that reaches the capital. Sources: Reuters, Al Jazeera, CIG TG
