Is there a word for the first 10 minutes after getting new prescription lenses and the world is so much crisper? You quickly get used to it, but for the first few minutes you feel like the Bionic man.

KiCad-ers! I have a question. If I have a footprint and I want to assign multiple components to it for PCB assembly, what is this feature called? Chat-GPT reckons “Assembly Variants” but can’t find it. For context the footprint contains multiple SMD pin header in groups of 2x5.

@BarwiseBen Is there a way in KiCad to convert circles on edge.cuts to drill holes?

@scolar They probably convert holes beyond their drill size to cutouts too so safest bet is do all drills. Bit of a pain in kicad though

PCB fam - when making front panels do you put the holes for components on the drill layer or the edge cuts layer? I seem to confuse the factory every time (I put everything in as edge cuts)

@infovore Actually the Basic passives seem thin on the ground across all gauges

@infovore pointed out it’s probably because I’m using 0805 gauge which aren’t very standard.

PCB fam - am I doing something wrong? So many of the parts on JLC PCB assembly are Extended now. Last time I ordered all of the standard resistors/caps were Basic. It's making the order super pricey. (Apologies to everyone apart from the 1 or 2 people who understand this)
