@JohnSwinney I noted comments re delivery at Sherrifhall rdbt. The highly centralised, out of date TS is the issue. TS have blocked progress in many areas & their cosy relationship with consultants has wasted millions ref RABT. Time to devolve power away from TS,or abolish them.

The problem Scotland has is our energy policy is being dictated to by people who have little life experience and knowledge of Scotland (apart from maybe a caravan holiday as a child or a brief whirlwind visit as a politician).

@scot_tunnels @NickyZog Our primary home has microbore piping cemented/plastered into the floor (under tiles) and walls. Disruption would be immense as would cost of reinstatement. Assuming our housing association allowed it. In Scotland for various reasons we’re not eligible for a grant atm.

Not downplaying for a minute the very real impact the state of our ferry network is having but it's surely unreasonable for @BBCScotlandNews to make an issue of the fact that Ardrossan harbour won't be ready until 2029 when SG only bought it *last month* bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@bmstewart2004 @NickyZog There is no ROI. Gas boilers don't generate it either but are cheaper to install initially. £7.5k is what it cost and about £100/month in the winter. Last night kwhs cost 1.73p.

@scot_tunnels @NickyZog How expensive was the installation and what’s the ROI? Octopus suggested 9-13 years for us on solar panels and battery alone. I don’t have £15-20k in my back pocket to go that route unfortunately- that’s going to buy a lot of oil!

@NickyZog Serious question Nicky. Do you use a heat pump for your highland home? Not convinced they’re cost effective vs oil (I know…) in the frozen north…

@scot_tunnels @mcmotors23 @_JamieMcIntyre @BBCScotlandNews I have never said ‘unionist conspiracy’, have I? I said ‘The only time there has been ‘no ferry service’ (on Mull) this weekend is when there have been weather cancellations. Yes, Isle of Arran is broken but other ferries operating depending on weather.’ True, isn’t it.

I don't think public awareness has cut through yet on the cost of heating oil for those not on gas/elec. It was sub 60p a few weeks ago, and now over £1.20 Heads out of the sand. This is massive issue.

@mcmotors23 @scot_tunnels @ammacj @BBCScotlandNews ....there's huge impact & disruption on the communities of Ardnamurchan & Morvern *as well as* on Mull. But your statistics still say everything's fine so it must be. Trouble with arguing your case, 'champ', based on stuff you hear is you haven't got a clue about what's going on

@mcmotors23 @_JamieMcIntyre @ammacj @BBCScotlandNews There's been no ferry service for major parts of this weekend for Mull. Various people have now cancelled hospital appointments in Glasgow because they can't travel to get there in time. It's nothing to do with stats. A service doesn't report a stat if it doesn't run.

Absolute chaos unfolding at the Corran Ferry - & not a Highland Council marshall to be seen. But all the ingredients were known in advance: - big ferry out of service - disruption to Oban-Mull ferries - Friday always busy with workmen finishing up - holiday traffic building

Countryside 'industrialisation'? Like 18thC charcoal production in the oakwoods? Or lead mining in Strontian & elsewhere? Kelp burning? Iron ore mining in Raasay? Or even 20thC forestry? The 'industrialisation of the countryside' ship sailed long ago. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Morvern, Ardnamurchan, Moidart, Morar & Mallaig all currently inaccessible to vehicles from the rest of mainland Scotland - except by ferry via Mull or Skye. Bet you haven't heard that on the 'national' news.....

@BlackIslePMD No I amn't. The SNP vote will be further split by FEvsSNP $is already down. My prediction is Lib Dem 1, SNP 2, FE 3 or equal with Reform. People seem to think the SNP is going to walk this. I predict all H&I seats for LD apart from Shetland for SNP. The irony!

@scot_tunnels Are you kidding? He's been the MSP for nearly 30 years, he'll get a chunk of the snp indy vote, a chunk of the "2 fingers to SNP" vote and a chunk of the "put Highlands first" vote. The Lib Dem is an unknown from Moray.

I'm not sure if this is ignorance or being disingenuous, but Fergus Ewing is standing here as an independent, and has been MSP for the area since 1999, he's in with a decent shout and the idea that it's a straight Lib Dem vs SNP is simply not correct.
