TC’s goal was never about ignoring“compliance”.
Its goal was always to be built in such a way that it *could not* comply.
It had to go thru a process of breaking its weak links as it grew from a humble 4-node single-chain genesis network to the unstoppable machine it is today.

Most crypto projects aim to cater to regulators and institutions. They spend time, energy, and money on endorsements and lobbying, hoping they will wake up on the good side of the political establishment. Thorchain went a different route, first through chaos, but recently through a clarified path of embracing decentralization and immutability as a fundamental, non-compromising principle. Thorchain consciously entered a risky, cat-and-mouse game between the establishment and cypherpunk idealism. It's either true decentralization or death of the protocol. If you want to be entertained, you hold $RUNE 😅

Quick question for @CoinGecko: what's the definition of a Bitcoin DEX?
Your rankings show ChangeNOW at #1 with 99.8% market share. But ChangeNOW is a custodial aggregator, not a decentralised exchange.
Magic Eden is listed but trades Runes NFTs, not Bitcoin swaps.
THORChain has processed $118 billion in native $BTC swaps and isn't on the list at all.
If protocols with custody or validators can be listed as 'decentralised,' why isn't THORChain there with 100+ independent node operators securing native Bitcoin swaps?
