@jason_coleman Agree markdown is great, but it depends how you use it. There are people creating "frameworks" that are just layers of markdown files with agent instructions, this is not going to last. Giving agents tools to discover things will win over feeding them static text.

Remember when tab autocomplete was a thing? Then telling your agent to make a todo list? Then planning mode? All temporary hacks, markdown files are next on the chopping block.
Thorsten Ball@thorstenball

Lately, whenever I open this app and see the latest tricks, and hacks, and notes, and workflows, and spec here and skill there, I can't help but think: All of this will be washed away by the models. Every Markdown file that's precious to you right now will be gone.

@cactusmaac You can compare the two (even with leverage). It’s just math. My argument is that after transaction costs (and paying rental managers) you’d net out behind an index investor

Even if your rental properties do outperform the market (unlikely), when you include the "return on hassle", it's not even close. The cost of your time, dealing with tenants, etc., is far higher than a few percentage points a year.
Mikli@CryptoMikli

Caleb Hammer reveals his biggest money mistake was buying rental properties instead of investing in the market “I made decent money, but I would have made so much more money by just being in the market instead of focusing on that. My rental properties back in my home state, I am fully exiting them and just putting the money in the market.”

@thorstenball If you come to California please don't go to LA, there are so many better places to go. San Diego, Laguna Beach, Santa Barbara, Monterey, et al

Never been to NYC, never been to LA. If I were to visit, in NYC I'd look at all the Robert Moses highways and in LA I'd look at all the intersections from Heat.

Remember when tab autocomplete was a thing? Now it's completely useless. If Dario is right about this, human planning/architecting of software will be the new tab autocomplete.

dario amodei says: we're not hitting a wall — this year could accelerate so fast it shocks people, because exponentials only feel real in the "second half of the chessboard" anthropic likely has some RSI progress in the lab, and we'll see early effects by year-end

When you can build anything you want for very little time + money, **what** to build becomes the most important question. This is a hard question, but it's where all the value lies now.

People are saying that coding with AI makes you dumber, and I feel some of that. But I'm also learning about high level concepts at a faster pace than ever before because I can build so many different things than I would have had time for previously.

launching the best thing I have ever made this wed and my brain is ping ponging between “i’m a genius” and “delete everything and move to a cabin.” equal parts excitement and respect for the complexity. somewhat similar feeling to when i gave a conf talk for the first time, and thought why the heck did i sign up for this to shoot this is awesome. wish me luck!!

Everything is changing so fast right now it's a mistake to get caught up in long product cycles. What will win this year is shipping fast and being ready to throw everything away. This is easy for startups and indie devs and very hard for everyone else.

@neke989 @JS_Zao On the growth point, 10x productivity doesn't mean 10x revenue, so I think there has to be job loss. However, those jobs may just move elsewhere (I hope).
