@A_dmg04 Marathon is a fantastic game. As a veteran Destiny player, I’m loving Marathon. Everything about it feels modern and fresh and makes me wish the design team from Marathon could cook and fix the UI and menus in Destiny. The portal has taken a lot of character out of Destiny.

Some days are incredibly difficult. Will continue to do the best I can by this community as long as I’m given the opportunity to. Fully understand the frustrations. Happy to hear you out and pass along the feedback, during the best of times or the rough ones. Know many need to see action: words are only a piece of the picture until something ships. Much love.

@MacticsG1 @CeraBiH007 Because many people don’t even know why they are so negative and angry. They just act on impulse without actually considering their actions. Pretty much the same as all those big babies in positions of power. Emotionally unintelligent people who happen to have lots of money!

@CeraBiH007 no, it was a hobby for me for 7 years before it turned into anything even close to resembling a job why must you people say something malicious or rude at every opportunity

i know its just a game and this might sound silly as fuck but destiny being in the state its in is killing me inside… i feel like a piece of me is decaying and there isnt anything i can do about it the game meant so much to me and watching it die a slow death is excrutiating

@GeneralBob44 @Aztecross It was slower. You fell in love with it because you took the time and effort to get to know the game and work out what the hell to do. Now it’s the opposite. The portal shoves what to do in your face. There’s no element of discovery or mystique.

@Aztecross @Aztecross My question to you therefore is what worked so much better in D1 to get the initial player base? I seem to recall being confused for months - it was just a very gradual learning curve but just couldn’t stop going back to the game

This is the most damning data. There are no new players, and I can’t blame them. The onboarding gameplay is enough to make anyone quit within the first hour.

@Dcasd1 @A_dmg04 Yes, simply adding useful drops to all activities will basically fix the main concern with the portal. I wonder, however, if the new loot technically NEEDS all the difficulty customisation logic in order for the loot to drop and wor properly.

@A_dmg04 Great change now just add power drops to the world tab and you’re golden. Lost sectors, dungeons, raids should have pose drops. Don’t make the world tab useless it’s the foundation of destiny.!

@Benjjjyy Let’s say we didn’t have the portal. We’d access the activities from their various locations on the maps. But it’s still a “chore”, no? Wouldn’t we still be running may of the same activities repeatedly? The main issue I see is that we need MORE activities in the portal?

We could have had Destiny 3 after The Final Shape, instead we've got Destiny 2 in the worst state it's been in for as long as I can remember. The portal has turned the game into a chore, the communication from Bungie is all over the place and the choices made by them are consistently out of touch. They double down on poor changes, then make 10 even more baffling decisions. The soul has been ripped out of Destiny, fuelled by greed and mismanagement. There's no longer a need for "make or break" tweets from me, because the game is already broken beyond repair.

@StBlitzkrieg @PaulTassi Firstly. I’m not dumb, but thank you for that attack. Secondly, the number of views on videos about Destiny would suggest that there’s still oodles of people that love consuming Destiny. I stand by my comment that creators influence the image of the game in a negative way.

@scottiericho @PaulTassi You do realize how dumb you sound. They are down to one of their worst times ever in the game with the lowest retention. Them leaving is a sign they can't make money from it anymore because no one is interested as well as themselves

I'm not one to make bold statements, but times are tough for Destiny 2 right now and the future is bleak. There's a lot of pressure on this, Bungie have to nail them both. Big time. I think it's valid to say Renegades and Ash & Iron are make or break for the future of Destiny 2.

In Destiny 2, "power grind" means repeatedly running activities to get higher power level gear, boosting your character's overall power to tackle endgame content. Players are upset with the Ash & Iron update (a free seasonal drop raising the cap to 550) due to bugs like broken rewards, low drops, uncompletable modes, and increased grind difficulty without fair payoffs, leading some to call it the "worst update ever" and demand a rollback.

@KyleP762 @DestinyBulletn I don’t get the hate. I have had one bug since the update that bothered me only a tiny bit. No loot at the end of Fallen Sabre on GM difficulty. Other than that, one of my exotic armour pieces says +5 power when it’s actually +132. It’s a game. Games have bugs now and then. 🤷‍♂️

@DestinyBulletn Ok, I ran the new event once yesterday then went to play something else because game was lagging and freezing up. The new event wasn't SPECTACULAR, but fine. Is it all really that bad...?

@KyleP762 @DestinyBulletn No. It’s not that bad at all. At no point did Bungie say these mid expansion updates would be groundbreaking. It’s a free content drop with a fresh activity. What’s more important is that there’s tons more stuff available in the pinnacle and fireteam ops sections now.

@PaulTassi To be honest, the portal, and the activities have been pretty fun to run multiple times and as power grows and difficulty increases it keeps it fresh. Looking forward to them adding more of their awesome past activities to the portal.

a good news Destiny 2 Steamchart? Player retention has actually been pretty good the last month since launch, in context

@Forcer69 Pretty obvious that it comes down to time, money and resources. They have had to re-tool each of the activities that are in the portal to support all the new customisations with modifiers etc. I am sure that they will continue to add more to the ops activities for us.

So why did Bungie make a bunch of half assed activities for solo ops when they could’ve ported these over? Alongside TFS adventures, nightmare hunts and every Lost Sector.

@YoraBadWulf @DestinyBulletn Yes this. I’m the same. I have a busy life with work and kids but manage to play an hour or two at night with the wifey and we are progressing fine. 260 ish now. Wife 220 ish. Happily enjoying the grind in power. Gives us the happy vibes every time we get more powerful gear.

@DestinyBulletn It's definitely slow but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't having a good time working on my build and leveling up my light and getting the stats I want. I do work full time and have a family so I can't play as much as I'd like yet I still am making progress
