Karl Urban's resume shouldn't be real. Lord of the Rings. Star Trek. Star Wars. Marvel. He's the only living actor who's appeared in all four of the biggest sci-fi franchises in cinema history. Combined box office north of $5 billion. In Ragnarok he shaved his head, gained 20 pounds of bulk, and played a coward who dies holding twin assault rifles named "Des" and "Troy." In The Boys he spent five seasons as the most compelling antihero on television, and the final episode aired six days ago. In between those two roles he starred in Dredd. The entire film. Never removed the helmet. The audience never saw his eyes. Most actors at his level would have demanded the reveal. Urban kept it on because that's what the character required. He started on Xena: Warrior Princess in New Zealand. Taika Waititi called him for Ragnarok and said he'd be working with Cate Blanchett. Urban's response: "Sign me up. I don't need to read anything." $20 million net worth across a career where he's never been the lead franchise face. Always the second or third name on the poster. Always in a different body. The Kiwi character actor who quietly assembled the most impossible filmography in Hollywood and nobody talks about it because he disappears into every role. That's the whole trick. You can't recognize him because he's actually acting.

Dear Gen X, I’ve been watching 80s movies and I just need to know…WHERE WERE YOUR PARENTS?? Every child was just wandering the earth unsupervised like a raccoon with house keys. Riding bikes across town at midnight, fighting ghosts, investigating murders, befriending cryptids, hacking government computers for funsies… And the parents were ALWAYS “out of town” or “working late” while the only adult-adjacent supervision was some random 16-year-old who got dragged into the chaos. No cell phones. No helmets. No adult supervision. Just vibes, life lessons, and several near-death experiences. You all weren’t “raised.” You were lightly monitored feral creatures with a bike and unresolved trauma. I’m genuinely shocked there are enough of you left to populate an entire generation.

A perfect example of how The Boys just devolved into a cringe parody of itself is Homelander’s obsession with milk. Originally, it was meant to be an example of how emotionally stunted he was due to lacking a motherly figure growing up, resulting in a perverse obsession with breast milk But by season 5 it’s reduced to a “haha isn’t that so weird and random lolz?” gag for shock value by having him take baths in a tub full of breast milk

Basketball has changed so much. In some ways, this shows more of a team sport and the development of complex plays. In other ways, this reveals how much slower, less aggressive, and less athletic the game was. Boomers and millennials are going to hate to hear this, but the reality is the 2026 OKC and Spurs would dominate both these teams.

@itsbighonkin Tipping isn't for counter service. Talk to the owner about that issue. It's for waiters. Ask a waiter if you can tip the cook next time and see what response you get. I worked as a waiter in a pizza place years ago. The etiquette is being twisted to take advantage.

@1sPlaza Coke tastes better at McDonald's because the ship it on stainless steel. It's an agreement. Other franchises get plastic.

Something I like to do when I’m out and about running errands is stop by McDonald’s and order a large Coke Zero. It tastes better from McDonald’s and it’s only like $1.37 after taxes. Way cheaper than a 20oz from a c store.
