Haley Stevens is working to be Michigan's fighter in the Senate.

I represent one of the Blackest cities in America, a city built by Black leaders who fought for civil rights, expanded voting power, strengthened unions, built businesses, and transformed communities. William Lawrence’s attacks on Black leaders are disgraceful and disqualifying. You do not get to seek Democratic votes while demeaning Black leadership. Michigan Democrats must condemn this clearly and immediately.

William Lawrence's comments attacking a generation of Black political leadership are deeply disappointing and raise serious questions about his judgment and the kind of leadership he would bring to Michigan's 7th District. Suggesting that Black leaders have simply served as a pillar of the political establishment dismisses the extraordinary role they have played in expanding civil rights, protecting voting rights, and creating opportunity for millions of Americans. The people of Michigan’s Seventh District deserve a representative who respects those contributions and is focused on bringing people together to solve problems for Michigan families—not tearing down the leaders whose advocacy has helped move our country forward.

On El-Sayed’s support of Uncommitted, Stevens says, “Who did that help? When you sat out ‘24, that vote is an important thing. People are entitled to use it as that they see fit, but we also need courageous leaders right now.”

DW and Donna Mills of Troy say Stevens’ ad with Pres. Obama is the reason they’re voting for her. “They put a lot of money behind Haley. We don't know a whole lot about him.” I asked about AIPAC, the Mills’ said they aren’t anti-Israel but what’s happening in Gaza is a genocide.

When Amy Siskind and Neera Tanden say someone hasn't been "vetted", all they mean is Liz Cheney and AIPAC don't approve of them.
