He exercises poor judgment every day, partly because he’s unqualified and partly because he’s paranoid about keeping his job. He fires top military leaders to neutralize his perceived rivals. These top soldiers aren't after his job, but they are necessary to our country because Hegseth is serving during a war. Trump has drawn a line he can't cross. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll can not be fired. At least Donald Trump sees Driscoll’s value and recognizes Hegseth as a liability. As David Rothkopf writes, “Donald Trump’s obscene $1.5 trillion in an additional defense budget request”, should be a wake-up call for Congress. “Capitol Hill must make it clear that not one penny will be approved if Pete Hegseth remains in office.”

Imagine, Republicans purposefully made flying an enormous problem for millions of Americans so ICE and the CBP didn't have to stop their criminal ways. Truth be told, the Democrats weren't going to be ridiculed. The Republicans must solve Trump’s shutdown. Republicans couldn't have been more wrong. Democrats had given them excellent proposals many times, but they didn't include money for the already-funded agencies that were full of corruption and criminals. Democrats aren't giving in because their legislation is a great proposal to get the DHS funded. The BBB was afforded a ton of money for the year for exactly this purpose. Now, Democrats would like to see reforms to ICE and the CBP before considering additional funding and corruption must be eliminated from their policies, as well. Democrats compromised by funding every portion of the DHS funding except the two parts that were riddled with corruption. Trump has overplayed his hand with this shutdown. It's time Republicans see reason.
