NEW: Within minutes of the news of Trump’s indictment, his allies in Congress clamored to defend him — sometimes in ominous terms — despite no details about the evidence the grand jury relied upon to level the still-sealed charges. politico.com/news/2023/03/3…

@hugh_murchison I didn't realize you were the one who tweeted this. It was good to meet you and I enjoyed your film a lot! Thanks for answering my question.

@sdanzig Hello, Scott. Our short films (mine is THE LINE JUMPER) are screening at Short.Sweet.Filmfest this year. I'm writing to find out if you plan to attend. Hope to see you there. Handsome-looking cat, BTW.

I see people continue to use Twitter as if it’s still a viable social media platform. I think it’s plain by now that the ship will not be righted. I’d consider giving Mastodon a whirl. Choose an “instance” that seems fine then make sure you use hashtags when posting.

@jaxelburgh Poor grammar aside, hopefully they car about passengers and not car thieves.

@PGHDistrict8 @PLIpgh I heard recently about Pittsburgh being very stagnant with rehabilitating abandoned properties, especially in comparison to Cleveland which has been much better at it, enjoying extra tax revenue as a result. Wondering if the situation is improving? cuyahogalandbank.org/cleveland-1100…

And it was great to hear from Director Sarah Kinter how new budget allocations will allow @PLIpgh to score/remediate more condemned properties, perform timelier inspections, continue to carry out our lead safety initiatives, and speed up permitting processes across the city.

@DaveDiCello They definitely DO feel cold, and I don’t think it’s a white balance thing.

I don't mind the cold. In fact, I kinda enjoy it. But the weather in #Pittsburgh this morning was pretty brutal, with the low temps and the howling wind. Still found some time after my run to capture some views of the city, and maybe it's just me, but these images just FEEL cold.

@jaxelburgh Yeah, it became obvious to me, after meeting you, that there is some sort of political divide within the PG ranks.

@jaxelburgh This might be too much. When I finally moved from Jersey, I think Snooki may have been the final straw.

@erikastrassbrgr I’m not sure yet how much is fear-mongering, but it seems much worse than that. Congress seems a whole lot less productive than Pittsburgh’s City Council.

Also troubling is the Court majority’s chipping away of the authority of fed. regulatory agencies like the EPA, CDC, OSHA, etc. Locally, it would be like removing authority granted to Zoning Board & Planning Commission and having City Council handle all of those cases. But x1000.

Today’s court decision is just one more frustrating hurdle in the fight to tackle “the most pressing environmental challenge of our time”. It’s even more reason why state & multi-state programs to cut down on climate pollution like RGGI are so critical.
SCOTUSblog@SCOTUSblog

The Supreme Court sharply curtails the authority of the EPA to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions that cause climate change. In a 6-3 ruling, the court sides with conservative states and fossil-fuel companies in adopting a narrow reading of the Clean Air Act.

@DanRather @DarrinHall15 I would love to see the US rewrite it’s antiquated 18th century constitution written by slaveholders. To start 1. Abolish the Electoral College and go to a straight popular vote. 2. A proportional Senate. 3. No gerrymandering. 4. Term limits.

@jamie_dougherty @EmilyGiangreco Sheely’s is a horrible recommendation, sorry. I bought a $2700 sofa that started cracking apart just after the 1 year warranty ended. I also have the 5 year extended coverage. No one will help. More detail if you want. My old leather sofa was great for 15 years, and I miss it.

Pittsburgh friends! Serious question, where do you buy furniture? 😂 I’m looking for a sectional and so far the only stores I found were Ashley and Bob’s
