@SONIACONTERA @JGaladePablo as @JGaladePablo said - in part because many of the nanosheets have frond-like structure (we think due to DLA controlled growth) and also because of the colour which is reminiscent of seaweed and finally because @SunjieYe is keen on naming all our gold structures :)

gold nano seaweeds are one atom thick gold nanoparticles with peroxidase activity way superior to native enzimes!

@JGaladePablo @SerendipityWrk @etayyabi @SunjieYe @BilayerBen Hi Julia, thanks - they are surprisingly stable under normal conditions but would melt at high light fluxes - something we've not looked at - their absorbance is in the Near IR - though should to move to the visible by reducing the lateral dimensions
