Do you even realize who was depicted on the helmet of banned Ukrainian skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych (@heraskevych )? They were Ukrainian athletes — women, men, and even children — who hoped to be part of the Olympic Games this year or someday in the future. But they never will be. They never stood a chance against Russian missiles. Vladyslav wanted to give them that chance — to carry them with him, to be their guide after death, and to honor their memory. Commemorating fallen athletes should have been among the most respected acts in the eyes of the International Olympic Committee. But not in a world shaped by injustice, Russian money, a loss of values and faith, a lack of dignity, and the absence of basic professional ethics. They told him to change the helmet and everything would be fine — to reject the memory of fellow athletes. He’d get his gold medal and the prize that came with it. After all, he had trained his entire life for this. But he chose dignity and values over a gold medal. This is how ancient legends were born in the past. Now they are returning to a world that has lost its soul. And these legends have Ukrainian faces. Athletes depicted on the helmet: 🖤 Alina Perehudova: Teenage weightlifter. 🖤Pavlo Ischenko: Boxer. 🖤Oleksiy Loginov: Ice hockey player. 🖤Ivan Kononenko: Actor and athlete. 🖤Mykyta Kozubenko: Diving athlete and coach. 🖤Oleksiy Habarov: Shooter. 🖤Daria Kurdel: Dancer. 🖤Dmytro Sharpar: Figure skater killed near Bakhmut. 🖤Yevhen Malyshev: 19-year-old biathlete killed near Kharkiv.

One of my bucket list things to do while visiting Canada was Niagara Falls and the only nice weather day is tomorrow so I just drove over from Toronto and checked into a hotel so I could be here to enjoy it and hopefully capture some much better pictures when the sun’s out ☀️

@ashukla09 You are absolutely right, Dr. Bawaskar's work in Mahad (near Pune) changed the game for Red Scorpion stings. Prazosin (Minipress) is a lifesaver by counteracting the autonomic storm the venom causes. It’s a brilliant example of local research solving a local crisis

Three months ago, a patient died in our ER. What he did in the hours before reaching us still makes me shudder. A 35-year-old shouldn’t die from a snake bite in 2026. He died because he followed myths instead of science. Don’t let your "first aid" be the thing that kills you 🧵

My iPhone went missing from my desk. 10 minutes later, I got a notification on my iPad. There was a photo of a stranger holding my iPhone. His expression was panicked. He didn’t know he was being photographed. This isn’t magic. iPhones have a feature that automatically does this if stolen. And you can activate it now:

Why hasn’t Melania ever met with the Epstein survivors? Why hasn’t she advocated for them before? She’s never so much as mentioned them has she? Why this? Why now?

I’m so upset… My Kindle is fifteen years old. It still works fine, and I want no other. I read a lot, and this is the only e-reader that doesn’t hurt my eyes. None of the new models have a screen that so perfectly mimics paper. And now Amazon is forcing me to buy a new one. 😡 I don’t need a touchscreen or sound, and I definitely don’t want adverts! 🤬 The timing couldn’t be worse either… I can’t afford it right now. ☹️ I guess I won’t be buying more ebooks for a while... I’ll just have to read the ones I already have.

This will be a hot take even though it shouldn’t, but if you bought tickets only to resale them, I hope both sides of your pillows are always super hot.

Scary Facts That Are Actually True: 1. There are more empty houses in the world than there are homeless people. 2. A dead body might still move a little even hours after dying. 3. You can't read or tell time in a dream. 4. People with mental problems, including psychopaths, often say their favorite color is blue. 5. Only two days in your life aren't 24 hours long—your birthday and the day you die. 6. On average, we unknowingly pass by 14 murderers in our lifetime. 7. Your brain can make up fake memories that feel totally real. 8. If you enjoy learning facts and psychology, you should follow me.

I have a long layover & airports are huge triggers for me as an alcoholic. I glanced at a menu & cocktails are 20+ dollars. I cackled. I might be an alcoholic but I’m also a humanities professor. we don’t make nearly enough money for that. my sobriety lives to see another day.
