I still can’t get over the NHL war room concluding that Karlsson wasn’t “pushed, shoved or fouled into the goaltender” here. It’s not just this specific call, it’s indicative of how arbitrary and diseased the whole process is.

This isn’t saying much with NHL officiating.

It is understated how great of a 200 foot player Ovi truly is. Most players take 74 or more games to start a defensive zone faceoff in a season, Ovi did it in 73.

no one has challenged for goalie interference more than the Penguins this year -- Boston, Calgary, Chicago, and Ottawa are tied for second with five challenges this year. Behind the Penguins -9 in these challenges, the Panthers are second-worst after going 0-4

Outside of the PK, I liked that period a lot from the Penguins. Ottawa loves to stack three at the blue line and clog everything up, and I thought the Penguins did a great job of getting through that, getting some good chances.

@sds807 @TheDanKingerski lol he challenged for GI after the ref already signaled a delayed penalty against Karlsson that caused the offensive player to hit their goalie. Already established defense caused the incident but sure. Good challenge. He’s 0-8 for a reason and it’s obvious

Wow, imagine being the guy who belligerently tweets a picture which literally shows the defenseman contacting the skater before he brushes the goalie and saying there’s no contact. Have you considered working for the league, sir?

@TheDanKingerski I reviewed the GI tracker to see why penguins fans feel so victimized. Holy shit your coach makes the most absurd challenges. If you take a minute to review it you will see how dumb his challenges are compared to other teams and this was clear GI. Good luck

Penguins GM Kyle Dubas has confirmed that veteran defenceman Erik Karlsson will not be traded this summer. While Karlsson remains signed through next year at a cap hit of $10 million, he is owed a $6 million signing bonus on July 1 of this year and just $1.5 million in remaining salary beyond that.
