@sdsmtr @Gnomelover1970 His name was printed wrong in one article. Eversince, it was known as Suave-Kapandji by numerous people. Lots of debates at meetings, unknowing they were talking about the same, and if so, who was right. Funny situations by malcommunication.

I think Kapandji was a little more dynamic (the technique, never met the person).
See both intrafocal but one intramedullary working as spring.

Fingers in holes allows more force and/or precision.

@rbarbosa91 I never understood the rationale for "palming." I'm not a surgeon, so please explain it to me as though I'm an anesthesiologist - which I am/was.

I’ve talked before about ’palming’ the needle holder versus putting your fingers in the holes…
But the next time an attending gives you a hard time for putting your fingers in the holes, you can point out to them that it’s *literally on the cover of the Sabiston textbook*. 🧐

@Ilse_Degreef Behandeling Achillespeesruptuur is inderdaad voorbeeld van hoe centrale aansturing van geneeskunde zich makkelijk laat misleiden door flinterdunne wetenschap. EBM begint met stellen van juiste onderzoeksvragen. En goed beleid houdt ook rekening met outliers.

I always cringe a little when i see medial malleolar fixation like this longer does not equal better! in fact, the longer the screw, the more likely youre in the medullary canal and there's literally NO BONE there! most dense bone is at the physeal scar pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24293597/
