🧵Unpopular opinion alert: Ryan Poles is dangerously approaching Ryan Pace territory by consistently trading picks away. Pace did it to trade up, but Poles is doing it for veterans. In last 2 years, has traded 2nd, 4th, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 6th round picks away for veterans.

@ADannehy @Johnathan_Wood1 Keenan and thuney both are capped at fifth round comp picks at best and traded for fourths. Ryan Poles has also yet earn a comp pick. Shout out Bryon Pringle. It’s a nice process, I just don’t think it’s his.

@Johnathan_Wood1 I agree with you. He is trying to follow the Eagles model in which they've traded for veterans late in their contracts then recoup the compensation with a comp pick after the vet leaves... except the Bears aren't getting comp picks because nobody wants those vets after.

The idea that paying someone through January and giving them essentially a five week severance and acting like they aren’t going to be negatively impacted financially is crazy. I’ve never understood how all city sports makes money or pays any bills but this is beyond tone deaf.
