DOOM: The Dark Ages could have required a massive 110 GB of baked Global Illumination data but Ray-based GI cut that down to zero. The old way would have needed up to 110 GB of pre-made lighting data stored on your device. The game levels are much bigger than before, so creating that data would have taken weeks of computer time. Instead, the new idTech 8 engine uses real-time ray tracing so this cuts the baked lighting data to 0 GB. The game now calculates lighting live as you play, this reduces download size and helps the team work faster

@GamersNexus easiest solution would be to force parental controls on setup on all major operating systems (Windows, Mac, Beginner GNU / Linux distros, Android, iOS). That would prevent any issues while also being privacy friendly but we have reptilians disguising as 90 year old politicians

@DeepHumor Was having the same issue. Random videos wouldn't stream above 144p and others were fine at 4K. On 2 gig fiber. It seems to have just gone back to normal a few mins ago. Same vid I couldn't even stream at 720p now works perfectly at 4K like usual and every other vid I try now.

@A12TheRedComet @theflow0 Yes. That's the way most PC's with integrated GPU's work. They can dynamically change how much RAM is used as VRAM. PS5 uses unified memory (so it's all the same speed), and devs have ~12.5 GB to work with (with stock OS) and have control over how much is used as VRAM.

Death Stranding 2 cracked before release. One of the reasons why Sony is scaling back from singleplayer games on PC, and why Crimson Desert implemented Denuvo DRM.

@Brother_O4 @oliver_drk Not a "traditional" crack. It's cracked via a fairly new method called a "hypervisor crack" which is way different, requires a lot more risk (turning of a lot of security features in Windows, letting the game have Kernel level access to your PC etc.
