Earlier today, the Supreme Court ruled by 6-3 margin that the tariffs Trump implemented under an emergency powers law were illegal because he did not have the authority to impose them in the first place. Under the Constitution, only Congress has the power to tax and tariffs are a tax on American consumers. Every single governor in America should follow Pritzker's lead. Trump illegally taxed all of us. Every time that we went to the store and paid an inflated price for something, that was Trump reaching into our wallet and illegally taxing us. Our money was taken.
