Introducing Searxly, a browser built for privacy and completely local. Searxly is a native macOS browser with its own search engine that runs directly on your own machine, which means your searches never travel to a company server, never build a profile of you, and never feed an advertising business. There are no accounts to create, no tracking, and no telemetry of any kind. Every search you make is answered by a private search instance running quietly on your Mac, so privacy is not a setting you switch on but the way the product is built from the ground up. Searxly goes further than search. It brings the tools a privacy minded person actually wants into a single place, including a self custody wallet that you alone control across multiple chains, an integrated VPN for private connections, optional routing over Tor for anonymity, and a privacy first AI layer designed so your conversations stay yours and never train a model. The app is fully signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens cleanly and updates itself securely over time, which means you always stay current without any effort. Searxly is free to download today for macOS on Apple Silicon, and you can install it right now at searxly.app/download. Requires macOS 15+. As part of the launch, every new installation this week also receives a free week of the built in Searxly VPN, granted automatically the first time you open the app. If you joined the waitlist, your download has already been sent straight to your inbox, so check your email and open it from there. And if you are discovering Searxly for the very first time, visit searxly.app/download and experience a browser that was designed around protecting you rather than profiting from you.

Grok 4.5 with Grok Build made this website with an almost scary level of speed and taste. I gave it a full redesign brief for the new searxly.app and it just executed. Custom wordmark, that beautiful true-black hero with the realistic MacBook scene, the hover lighting effects, the whole visual language. Every time I asked for refinements it understood exactly what I meant and delivered cleaner results than I could have sketched myself. The iteration loop was insane. Fix a spacing issue, adjust an animation, debug a build error on Vercel, restructure components, all while keeping the design direction consistent. It felt less like prompting and more like having an extremely talented frontend engineer who never gets tired and has perfect recall of the entire codebase. SpaceXAI is doing something special here. The quality jump with Grok 4.5 combined with the actual build environment makes this feel like the first real step toward AI-native product development. I’m genuinely impressed.

Introducing Searxly Support Console & Governance. We are pleased to announce the launch of the Searxly Support Console and Searxly Governance. Both services now operate under a single unified platform at support.searxly.app, delivering a seamless experience for support requests and community participation in product direction. The Support Console provides the primary channel for users to create, submit, and track support tickets. An account is required to access this functionality. The account creation process has been intentionally designed for maximum simplicity and security. Users simply provide their email address. A one time use code valid for ten minutes is then sent to that address. Entering the code activates the connection instantly. No password is ever required or stored. The Governance system runs alongside the Support Console on the same platform. Once connected through the shared account, users gain the ability to submit suggestions that appear in the dedicated Governance tab at support.searxly.app/governance. These suggestions are visible within the community and open for discussion as well as voting. Standard connected users receive an allocation of five votes together with the capacity to submit one suggestion. Users who connect a wallet holding at least 5$ of $SEARXLY unlock enhanced privileges. Their tickets receive priority handling within the Support Console. They also benefit from unlimited suggestions and an unlimited number of votes in Governance. This combined system ensures accessible support for all users while providing meaningful avenues for community input and rewarding active token holders with greater influence and expedited assistance.

In the past, AI agents had to click through fields one by one just like a human; now, a single call fills out the entire form instantly. 40 fields? Done in seconds. A video shows a long form, like RoboForm, getting neatly filled out (name, address, credit card, the works), then moving on to another form packed with dropdowns, checkboxes, sliders, and color pickers, all auto-filled without a hitch. What used to take dozens of actions now takes just one. What sets this apart: everything runs locally on your own machine, zero data goes to the AI cloud. Password fields are automatically skipped, submissions still require your approval, and Rampart keeps all PII redacted on the device. Privacy is maximized, and control stays in your hands. This isn't just an ordinary feature; it’s the true future of private, agentic browsing. base:0x0fdc79b868bc4a6295cd94397f61890f68c38ba3 is really cooking up something big, those in the know realize this is on a whole different level.
Searxly@Searxly

We shipped a new tool for Searxly Agentic Tools: fill_form Instead of typing a form one field at a time, your AI reads the whole form and fills every field in a single call. In the clip below, a form with 40 fields is completed in one shot. What used to take dozens of separate actions now takes one. And it stays on your terms. Password fields are refused, submitting a form still pauses for your approval, and everything runs locally on your own machine. Nothing is sent to any AI provider (using Rampart even if you use a cloud model). Faster, private, and fully in your control. See every tool at searxly.app/ai

Also, to clarify, the test has been made using Claude Code (Opus 4.8 for this), so the fast iteration is normal. If a text input is unfinished, or there are errors, this is not the fault of Searxly Agentic Tools, as we are just making sure your local AI can call tools and, if you use a cloud AI then we use Rampart to strip any personal information going to the cloud model.

We let Claude Code drive Searxly on its own. 119 browser actions in under 3 minutes. Private searches, opening and switching tabs, and filling a notes app plus a stack of web forms, including one with 30 fields, straight through to submit. Every action ran through Searxly Agentic Tools, rate limited and PII redacted by design. How your data stays yours: Rampart strips personal information out of everything a tool reads before it ever reaches the model. Names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, card numbers and IDs are detected on device and swapped for placeholders like [EMAIL_1]. So the AI can read and act on a page without ever seeing who you are. Bulwark guards the tool calls themselves. It rate limits actions to keep the agent from running away, and it scans and seals every piece of web content the AI reads, so a malicious page cannot slip in hidden instructions or smuggle your data back out. This is what private agentic browsing will look like in the future. To come soon.

Sure! Here's the super simple version: Searxly is a private web browser made for Mac computers. It just added new tools so **your own smart robot helper** (the AI you run on your computer) can use the browser safely. Your robot can now: - Search the internet privately (no spying!) - Read websites and tell you what they say - Click buttons, type in boxes, fill forms, scroll, and take pictures of the screen Everything stays on **your** computer. Nothing gets sent to big companies. It's like giving your robot friend its own safe key to the internet, but only inside your house with the door locked! (You turn the tools on when you want them.)

Introducing Searxly Agentic Tools with Update 0.9.7 Searxly 0.9.7 is now available. This release introduces Searxly Agentic Tools, a new way to give your own local AI private access to the web through the browser you already trust. Most browsers now embed their own assistant and ask you to trust their model and their data pipeline at the same time. Searxly takes the opposite approach. Searxly does not run the intelligence. You do. The model you already run on your own machine gains a private, auditable set of tools to search and act on the web through Searxly, and nothing is sent to any AI company. Searxly runs a small tool server on your Mac that speaks the Model Context Protocol, the same open standard used by Claude Desktop, Cursor, and a growing list of clients. Bring Ollama, LM Studio, or any MCP client, point it at the local endpoint, paste the access token, and your model can call Searxly's tools. Searxly never selects a model and never runs one. It simply answers the tools your model decides to call, it's entirely local. The feature ships switched off. You enable it, it is protected by a token, and every tool has its own switch. The tools that can act on your open tab must be enabled separately. - The read only web tools are available the moment you connect. - Private web search. Your model searches through your own SearXNG instance and reads the results. Never a public index, never an ad network, never your intent for sale. - Read a page. Fetch the readable text of any page, guarded against SSRF and aware of Tor, so the model can quote and cite the real source rather than guess. - Knowledge lookup. Pull structured facts about a person, place, or thing from Searxly's own knowledge panel. - Open the right site. Resolve and open the real, official destination from a curated, auditable entity database. - Privacy status. Let the model read the live privacy posture of the session, including which mode is active and whether Tor or the VPN is routing, so it can reason about how private the current context is. Browser control is a separate capability, enabled on its own. Once active, your model gains an action suite over the tab you are actually looking at. It can snapshot the page's interactive elements, read and fill an entire form in a single call, find text, click, type, select, scroll, navigate back and forward, reload, wait for content to appear, and capture a screenshot. It is modeled on the accessibility snapshot pattern from Microsoft's open source Playwright MCP, so it works with any local model and requires no vision. This is the private, local answer to the new generation of agentic browsers. The tool server listens only on loopback. It requires a bearer token on every request, stored in your Keychain, and it refuses any request carrying an Origin header, the standard defense that prevents a malicious web page from reaching a server on your own machine. Every call is auditable and logged. Agentic Tools ships in both editions of Searxly, switched off until you want it. This is the first release of the capability, and it is in active development. In our first live test with Claude Code completed the handshake, discovered every available tool, read the live privacy status, and drove the browser from end to end, with nothing personal or private sent to Claude thanks to Rampart and Bulwark (verified using Fable 5). Early, but the foundation is real. Learn more about Searxly Agentic Tools at searxly.app/ai Download Searxly free at searxly.app/download

What you are looking at is Claude Code driving Searxly through its Agentic Tools. The console on the left is every tool call as it fires, the browser on the right is the result: private searches, tabs opening and switching, a notes app, and a stack of web forms being filled. (video not shown as it shared private information at the top). On your point, which is the right one to test: recovery is built into the tools themselves, not scripted around them, and you can see it in this exact shot. Look at the Formy line. A form element's reference went stale mid run, and instead of a silent misclick or a crash, the tool returned "No element with ref 13, run page_snapshot again." The session simply carried on to the next task. That is the whole design: every element reference is reissued on each snapshot, so a stale one comes back as a clear, recoverable error and the agent reads the page again. The three cases you named: Tab goes sideways: an unreachable host, a 404, or a 503 comes back as a plain result, and the session keeps going on the other tabs. Nothing wedges. Login goes sideways: the agent is refused at password fields by design, so it hands the login back to you instead of fumbling your credentials. Form field goes sideways: a stale or missing reference returns "run page_snapshot again" rather than typing into nothing, and it recovers by reading the page again. We also ran a separate pass that breaks each of these on purpose, a dead tab, a refused login, and a stale form field, and it recovered from every one with the session still intact.
