My sister-in-law is a nurse. Last week she helped deliver a baby to a 19yo mother. Zero complication delivery. Thirty minutes later, a postpartum hemorrhage occurred that required a liter of blood. This happens in about 5% of all births or 1 in 20. Please don’t do this.

What I should have said was rude and entitled. Just showing your child very publicly that basic respect for education and others is not important. Imagine every other child takes a day or two off through each month… no doubt you’ll expect the teachers to make sure your child doesn’t miss out. And then to have the blatant rudeness to stick it on here. I hope they fine you. And I hope they lose.

The pollen from the London plane trees during these two weeks of the year is like fibreglass, gets in the eyes, throat, lungs. Nobody is immune. It’s not a native tree, it’s a man-made hybrid, even though many of them are pretty old. There ought to be a ban on planting it, and they should be gradually replaced with native trees.
