They just took out the largest tree in my neighborhood today. This photo is 4 years old. I think it’s DBH was over 7 feet. Nothing can save large, exceptional trees in my neighborhood with an unhealthy 18% canopy cover.

I'm not happy with the new tree protections. A big old Willow that was protected (they are protected at 8 inches) was permitted for removal -the only Willow in my neighborhood. There was once seven. I wonder what the price was to the two homeowners? It grew between two lots.

@seattlelorax @Seattle4Strauss And remove 85 percent of parcels. Sounds like the burden for caring for trees is shifted to homeowners and governments.
