Vitamin D is not really a vitamin.
It is a steroid hormone. Your body manufactures it from cholesterol when UVB strikes your skin, sends it to the liver for one conversion, sends it to the kidneys for another, and from there the active form goes on to regulate over a thousand genes. Bone health. Immune function. Mood. Insulin sensitivity. Cardiovascular function. Cancer risk. Fertility. Cognition.
The dose is the sun. The factory is your skin. The raw material is cholesterol, which we have also been told to be afraid of.
So look at what has actually happened.
You have been told to avoid the sun. You have been told to lower the cholesterol your body uses as the precursor. You have been told that animal fat, the natural dietary source of the finished hormone, is what's killing you.
And then, when the inevitable deficiency arrives at your annual blood test, you have been prescribed a small synthetic pill to replace the hormone the system was designed to make for free.
Three of the inputs your body requires were removed. The output collapsed. The output is now sold back to you in capsule form.
The system was not broken before we started fixing it.
We were.

It’s upsetting to watch so many people be led to believe a software feature created from human exhaust is an alien intelligence.
It’s a psyop. LLMs are a clever way to compress and search large databases with patterns. They have now inhaled effectively all of human knowledge. From this point, there will be spikes of improvement in narrow areas, but the big models are already collapsing from inhaling their own exhaust.
The core technology is at least 40 years old. Neural networks are nothing new. We’re just attaching obscene amounts of computing and data to them.
The physical nature of an LLM is literally just a database of tokens (word parts) and weights (relationships) that can be queried. It is not magic. It can be made deterministic by setting the entropy aka temperature to zero. It is a clever way to store an immense amount of data and retrieve it through token predicting.
“Agents” are just LLMs being queried in a loop. They take exponentially more energy and suffer the same problems as chatbots—hallucinations and sycophancy—but exponentially more complicated to solve.
In reality, it’s all a category error. It’s a mirage created by the desire of a small group of elites to build a technological and financial moat around themselves. “AGI” is the McGuffin, the plot device, to serve as the messiah that will deliver people from the toils of everyday life.
The broligarchs are trying to sell us our own replacements. According to them, we won’t have to drive, or work, or think anymore. The robots and AI will all do it for us.
It’s the oldest con there is: magic beans.
Your chatbot is not your Jesus or your girlfriend. Your Claude instance is not intelligent. It’s a search engine for human knowledge stolen from the internet and the destruction of physical books.
So please understand. You are witnessing the biggest financial bubble in all of human history based on deceptive marketing, astroturfing, and cult dynamics. You are not witnessing the birth of a new intelligence. Unfortunately, that’s a battle we’re losing.

A solar farm just opened where a beef farm used to be.
This is a real sentence about a real place. In Lincolnshire, near Glentworth, on land that grew British food for six hundred years. 1,214 hectares of grazing pasture and cropland, the size of Heathrow Airport, now under panels for the next forty years.
It is called Tillbridge Solar. It was approved in October 2025. The locals were against it. The local council was overruled by central government. The farmer who used to graze cattle on that land will not be grazing cattle on that land in your lifetime.
Down the road, Springwell Solar got the nod the same month. 1,280 hectares. The largest in the country. Same story. Beef and arable, gone.
This is happening everywhere. CPRE found that 59% of England's biggest solar farms are on productive farmland. In one Lincolnshire district, 7% of the land is now solar panels. Three solar farms, Sutton Bridge, Goosehall, and Black Peak, are built entirely on the highest grade of agricultural land we have.
Now here is the part nobody mentions at the dinner party.
The roofs of the warehouses on the A1 are empty. The supermarket distribution centres are empty. The Amazon sheds, the MoD car parks, the industrial estates outside every town in England, all empty. CPRE's own numbers show that putting panels on the roofs we already have would meet the entire 2035 solar target on its own.
The panels are not going on the roofs.
The panels are going on Lincolnshire because leasing one field from one farmer is easy, and leasing a thousand roofs from a thousand owners is hard. The shortcut is the pasture.
You will not be told to stop eating beef.
You will simply find that the farm that produced it is now a power station, and the beef in the supermarket has come from Kansas, and it costs more, and the cow is no longer in the field, because the field is no longer a field.
Cover the roofs. Leave the pasture.

Bernie Sanders Introduces Bill To Abolish Super PACs: "Our government is on its way to becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of oligarchs. Billionaires would not be able to pour huge money into super PACs, and it would end the era of unlimited spending and put power back into hands of the people."

Bats aren't scary. Losing bats is scary.
They pollinate hundreds of plants, eat massive numbers of crop pests and mosquitoes, and save farmers billions by reducing insect damage and pesticide use.
90% of North American bat species have experienced population decline in the last 15 years.
One bat can do more for your yard in a night than a bottle of bug spray ever will.
Put up a bat house. Skip pesticides. Plant native night-blooming flowers. Leave old trees and snags standing when it's safe. Keep cats indoors.
A healthy yard has more than birds and butterflies. It has bats, too.
