@silverdukington @TheIshikawaRin @Subnautica Works as a deterrent… I’ve literally bonked tons of the aggressive fishes with it, it works for like 2-10 seconds if it even triggers and has no feedback to tell me if it did even work Unlike the knife in SN1 where I got a slicing noise, a burst of some blood and the guy left

@TheIshikawaRin @Subnautica The Multitool is literally identical to the Knife functionally, it just can't kill things. It even works as a deterrant. There's no reason to care about the knife not existing when the Multitool is the same thing.

@KatraApplesauce @Beelzebugge @Chudfish14921 Such as aggressive scavengers, stronger predators moving in, or an overpopulation of prey fish leading to a mass die off of plant/coral life leading to the area becoming dead and filled with a toxic algae bloom Then people would likely not kill unless absolutely necessary

The hammerheads are just annoying, they arnt scary anymore they just annoy me, unlike the explodie fish which was scary because it was a massive danger while being avoidable in many ways

@KryyssX @jifferey That is more scary and also isn’t annoying, as it isn’t a constant minor annoyance of 1 hp lost but a major threat you can’t kill, merely scare off for a moment or two Where as every predator in SN 2 is… either the collector, which is easy to avoid, or a minor tax upon your HP

@KryyssX @jifferey As for the example of alien isolation The alien in that game can’t be killed outside of a scripted event, you can scare it off with the flamethrower, but that’s only temporary before it returns and it slowly becomes less scared of the flames as you use it.

Any true survival game player disagrees. Its not that the game needs to be easy, thats just fabrication. Its that there should be ways to overcome obstacles in a freeform way. If there are 0 ways to do it, thats not "wanting the easy way" there's not a way.
