🚨SECRETARY RUBIO: The Cuban people should know there’s $100 million of food and medicine available for them right now and the only reason it’s not reaching them is because of the Cuban regime.

REPORTER: Cuba’s Foreign Minister said that the State Department’s offer of $100 million in aid to Cuba is a lie. SECRETARY RUBIO: The Cuban regime is lying. They lie all the time. How can you say it’s not a real offer? We’ve made it to them privately and now publicly.

SECRETARY RUBIO: One of the reasons I supported NATO is because it gave us basing rights in Europe. So when NATO partners like Spain deny us use of these bases, the primary reason for why NATO is good for America, then what is the purpose of the alliance?

SECRETARY RUBIO: America will be engaged in the world. It’s not about turning inward. But we will engage with the world based on what’s good for America and in the national interest of the United States.

SECRETARY RUBIO: The wealth in Cuba is controlled by a company owned by military generals who take all the money. This is a country where people are literally eating garbage from the streets, but this company is sitting on $16 billion. It’s a broken nonfunctional economy.

The State Department is publicly restating the United States' generous offer to provide additional direct humanitarian assistance to the Cuban people. The Cuban regime must decide whether to accept our offer or deny life-saving help for the Cuban people, who desperately need it.

Last week, the United States refused to participate in the UN’s review of the Global Compact on Migration. The United States objects to the Global Compact on Migration and UN efforts to facilitate replacement migration to the United States and our Western allies.

🚨SECRETARY RUBIO: Every country needs to ask themselves if they are going to normalize a country claiming to control an international waterway. If the answer is no, then they’d better have something more than strongly worded statements to back it up.

SECRETARY RUBIO: We have a UN resolution in which the world will have the opportunity to vote and say that they are not going to allow Iran to control the Strait. If a country decides to veto, then you know what the impediment is.
