@HaffaAlan @marklevinshow I believe they were lawful residents of the U.S.
English

@security_rm @marklevinshow Yes. And the record of oral arguments is very clear that @marklevinshow is wrong. This was litigated in 1898 and they also reviewed that record. The Wong Kim Ark decision was essentially ratified by Congress with the Immigration Act of the 1952 as well.

THE SUPREME COURT'S BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP HEARING
I've been working on a few exciting projects (for the future), but here's my quick take: This is actually a very simple case but made messy for the justices. 90% of the time the justices spent asking questions/making statements that had absolutely no relevance to the 14th amendment but were result-oriented attempts at justifying birthright citizenship. There were comments about administration, policy, English common law, etc. But anyone who can read and comprehend the civil rights act in 1866 that preceded the amendment, the debates surrounding the act, and the subsequent draft and debate around the 14th amendment would know full well that the amendment never -- in any way -- contemplated granting birthright citizenship to foreigners, let alone illegal aliens. It would have been unimaginable. In fact, it was not intended to be an immigration amendment. It was passed by Congress and ratified by the states to enshrine in the Constitution and across all states the treatment of newly freed slaves and their children as citizens after the Civil War, and because certain states refused to acknowledge their citizenship. Indeed, President Andrew Johnson had vetoed the Civil Rights Act of 1866, his veto was overridden, but that was the impetus for the constitutional amendment.
The language -- "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" -- had a specific meaning and intent. As explained years ago by me and others, this refers to the political allegiance to the United States and is derived from the 1866 Civil Rights Act, which extended citizenship to the freed slaves and their children. Again, to underscore, it had nothing to do with immigration at all. Therefore, foreigners who come into the United States illegally cannot confer upon themselves "jurisdiction" for the purposes of granting citizenship to their babies because they were born in our country.

It’s been a lifelong issue; time to address it and end the fraud. @marybowdenmd orlandosentinel.com/1994/08/21/for…
English

@MaryBowdenMD @AFPhq @ckochfoundation There should be at least a 10 year ban from billing or having any access to Medicare or Medicaid. In my opinion that is their primary motive
English

18 states have passed legislation streamlining the licensing process for internationally-trained physicians to work in the US, and another 23 states are in the process of passing legislation.
This effort is being funded by @AFPhq and @ckochfoundation.

Not for foreign “medical graduates” that’s funded through universities, NGOs, and private hospitals; we all know those are full of leftist U. S. hating bureaucrats. Most foreign doctors come to the U.S. to defraud and exploit Medicare/Medicaid. There is massive medical education degree fraud
English

@security_rm @War4theWest Yes. CMS funds the residencies
Research and learn.
English

Nothing to see here folks. Just American medical school grads finding out they can't get a required residency slot to make their 19+ years of education pay off.
How many are in debt up their eyeballs? I'm so ANGRY about this!
Read and Weep!
Mary Talley Bowden MD@MaryBowdenMD
1367 US medical students did not get a US residency spot. 6733 international, non-US medical students got a US residency spot.
English

@Reniec7 @War4theWest Medicare has nothing to do with medical internships. However since there is no Medicare/Medicaid in India, for example, and the massive historic medical education fraud occurring there, one can guess the quality of “doctors” from there and what they’re after
English

@War4theWest Be angry that Medicare doesn't create enough slots because we need every qualified Dr. we can lay our hands on, no matter where thry are from.
English

@JeffClarkUS With massive medical education degree fraud rampant in India, and lack of medical for its citizens, no foreign “doctor” should be allowed in any U.S. hospital or clinic. If they do, then an equivalent fee to pay off non-selected U.S. graduates student loans
English

HHS should create a regulation providing that no U.S. hospital can lawfully accept a foreign residency applicant until all U.S. residency applicants first have slots.
No hospital or educational entity accepting federal funds should see its funding continue if it offers foreigners residency slots over U.S.-born residents.
It’s ridiculous we don’t already have such a system.
So much of America before Trump has been allowed to lapse into a “Foreigners First” system.
It has to change.
Mary Talley Bowden MD@MaryBowdenMD
Over the past 10 years, the US has seen a steady rise in foreign medical students taking US student residency spots. Every year, 1000+ US medical students fail to match, while 6000+ FMGs do match. About half of unmatched students find a spot, but they must still compete with FMGs for the leftover positions, leaving 500 - 600 US medical students with a worthless medical degree.

@DrOzCMS DME fraud has existed since at least the 1980’s when, mostly by immigrants, they discovered how ridiculously easy it was to set up a company and begin billing Medicare/Medicaid. Apparently nothing’s been done to prevent fraud. (Miami for example)
English

@lsferguson Congress has to strengthen H1B visa fraud by both enforcing the laws that already prohibit replacing U.S. workers with foreigners for the same job, and increasing prosecutions. What’s next, H1B’s to replace FBI agents?
English

@DrOzCMS Have any of the senior citizen advocates and groups (like AARP) weighing in on this?
English

Hospice fraud isn’t just about stealing your tax dollars – in some cases it’s about stealing your life.
Federal and state authorities raided this illegal hospice ring in southern California earlier this month, but there are plenty more like it. We won’t rest until seniors and taxpayers are safe.

@VictoriaZeev @elonmusk Actually, no. The Irish came to the U.S. escaping famines and poverty, in an era with no welfare or “free” anything; then helped build the U.S., and became very successful. Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day for those reasons. ☘️
