I've always said, you can't tell the story of basketball without Pat Riley. Got to lend my voice for an essay on NBA Today about him getting a statue in Star Plaza from the Lakers. A look back at the basketball life of the man who coined the phrase, "There's winning, and there's misery."

@JTTheBrick Reading a teleprompter well is absolutely a skill. Much harder than anything I've done on the radio in nearly two decades. Radio helps with TV in many ways, but not on the prompter. That is hard.

Interesting read on preparing to do your job. That being said, if you watch sports a lot, go to games and prep on your own you don’t have to respect these god awful 3 hour pre show meetings. Those are for the guys and gals who don’t work hard and need others to tell them what they missed. So many producers now have to hold the hand of their host who don’t do their homework and need to get caught up. Those shows should be obvious to many. The BS coffee and bagels 3 hour pre show meeting is a complete wast of time. 30 minutes is long enough unless you’re lazy. Oh and don’t tell me reading off a teleprompter is a skill.
