@neoavatara So this means fewer ICE agents on the street and no additional funding for ICE while theoretically eliminating the public pain of lines in airports? Why would the Democrats ever vote for ICE funding now? Mission Accomplished.

@TCNewLibs Office workers into downtown were big drivers of ridership on the train. They still haven't returned. See downtown office building valuations as confirmation. Safety and/or perceived safety are very important. Just not a monocausal factor here.

This still fundamentally feels like a public safety story. The light rail sees bigger ridership declines than the busses and is still the part of the system experiencing more public safety issues. axios.com/local/twin-cit…

@FT Says man who doesn't actually know what "lawyers, accountants, and other professionals" actually do. "Rely on my financial statements that were attested to by AI" isn't going to cut it. Who do you sue if they're wrong?

@washingtonpost Why "President Trump's" and not "The" Kennedy Center? He doesn't own it and the name Congress gave it hasn't changed. You could say "The Kennedy Center under the Trump Administration" but that might make me rethink canceling my subscription to the Post.

Museums and cultural centers across the U.S. are readying their programming for Black History Month. At President Trump’s Kennedy Center, however, the online calendar lists no scheduled events to honor Black history. wapo.st/49PUCtx

@kharrell91 @MarcGoldwein @DominicJPino More importantly, the market perceives any credit risk difference between Ginnie and Fannie/Freddie to be negligible at best. The bonds trade only at a slight spread and that difference is largely if not completely explained by faster Ginnie prepayment speeds.

@kharrell91 @MarcGoldwein @DominicJPino First, Sallie Mae is student loans, not mortgages. You are probably thinking of Ginnie Mae which is an agency of the Federal Government so it is of identical credit risk to a US Treasury. Fannie and Freddie are under conservatorship by the Gov.

I'm sympathetic to the idea that somebody shouting "gun!" in the middle of a scuffle would cause panic. But if the rule is that shouting "gun!" makes deadly force justified, all you've done is created an incentive for bad officers to shout "gun!" when they want to kill someone.

@greggnunziata I'll bite. Execution in the street by a state actor: really bad. Filming law enforcement in public: good. Interfering with law enforcement activities: bad (minor caveat for peaceful civil disobedience). Throwing stuff at law enforcement: bad. Interfering in a church service: bad.

I'm grateful when lefty types thank me for my courage in calling out my side. But. I'm mindful that not a lot of that is happening on the left. And I wonder if it ever will. I'll keep doing what I'm doing.

@reinhardtgstein @DeRushaJ I dare say "willing to move to America or Canada for marriage" may be the worst version of stereotypical Jane Austin type femininity possible. Also, I'm impressed at your astute knowledge of Minneapolis neighborhoods given your location in Niger.

@reinhardtgstein @DeRushaJ Actually my tacos were delicious yesterday and given the nutrional content of the food, I'd say I'm healthier than before I went. Needless to say, the only thing got "mugged or beaten" is your trolliness.

@DeRushaJ This "day of action" is so counterproductive its amazing. Who is it trying to convince? The exact opposite is what should be happening. Vote with your wallet and spend money on East Lake Street, Cedar-Riverside, or any other immigrant owned business of your chooaing.

@FamilyFuedBob @KenGardner11 In casual usage it doesn't really make a difference to me. In a news headline it should be right. But if there are any ICE officials looking at this, definitely go to the McDonalds in downtown Minneapolis. In fact, spend all your time there.
