New chips arrived for the SNES digital audio board kits. I've ordered the rest of the parts (getting expensive) to be able to do an initial batch of 10 kits. The sales from that will roll into making another batch of 10 kits depending on demand. They should get here in a week! 🥳
@ToProtagonist@Arthrimus I was curious too as DC is kinda the only big one that used VGA however @retrotink2 kinda changed all that with his VGA adapters.
Well we made it through 15 minutes without EVERYTHING selling out, so I think I finally got close to meeting the demand this time. We still have plenty of modules available, but we're out of VGA Inputs, Toslink Outputs at this time. Getting ratios right on this thing is hard. Seems like the numbers change every time.
@Arthrimus@RayCharlizard Sweet, not sure if it would be possible or not to add that to the existing order to save on shipping either way, no worries..super happy finally get one.
@zaxour Such a good project, I resurrected my rusty crusty childhood NES bc of this one..I tried the OG version and spent so much more time using this one Thank you.
Okay so I've got all parts sourced for Super NES digital audio mod kits (the processor is coming from overseas in 3-4 weeks). As for no-cut options, it's going to require the use of a mini Toslink jack, or just using RCA coaxial if your system supports it. Poll:
@arcademultiman What's the point of ANYTHING having digital audio? It's not just about noise floor. It's also about high frequency clarity (for those that prefer it).
I've sourced Digital Audio transmitters and placed an order! Super NES raw digital audio mods are coming back (and will be revised with no-cut options). Soon as the parts arrive, I'll open up orders and installation services.
🥳

I received the first few samples of the SVS shells for validation this evening and they are looking really good. The factory is still fine tuning the settings on the press to get the best possible quality out of the mold but these test parts look very promising.
As you can see this is a hybrid design. The main body of the module is made of injection molded nylon, then the module specific I/O cutouts are on separate FR4 plates that slide into the injection molded body. This gives us the flexibility to use one injection mold to produce the shells for all of the current and future modules!
Once they finish tuning the process and make a few more adjustments to the mold to address some minor fitment issues we'll be go for full scale production. They'll start shipping the shells to me in batches once they start production so I can start shipping orders!
